The contact owns a 2015 Ram 2500. While driving approximately 40 mph over a bump in the road, the contact heard a bang sound. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and found that the tailgate fell down and struck the trailer jack. The contact also stated that the tailgate opened at least ten times since October of 2018. The vehicle was taken to len stoler Chrysler/Dodge/Ram (1001 baltimore blvd, westminster, md 21157) where it was determined that the tailgate was fine. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 34,000.
