This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The problem is a drivability problem. There is a long hesitation in acceleration when you lift off of the accelerator pedal and then reapply the accelerator pedal. When this happens there is nothing you can do but wait for truck to respond. If you lift and reapply again the same situation can occur and you can find yourself in a bad situation with other vehicles because the truck wont respond to accelerator input for several seconds!
The truck would vibrate and shake at highway speeds over 65mph. I had the tires rotated and balanced several times and recently replaced all wheels and tires with new. The vibration persists.
My 2014 Ram 2500 shakes between 64mph and 76mph violently. Ram knows there is a problem but calls it a characteristic of a hd truck. I am in the tire business and have tried everything to rectify it. I know at least three Chrysler service managers who are being told to act like its normal. I am fed up with car manufacturers taking advantage of people. Over the past few weeks, I have received (3) vehicle recalls from the ntsb by email. Recently, I made an appointment with the local Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram dealer in elk grove, ca, near my home. I dropped the vehicle this afternoon for tomorrow morning's appointment and I was told by the service agent that the warranty manager, leslie, said they will not repair (2) of the recalls until told to do so by Chrysler. I asked what will the dealership do if they cause an accident and I was told "is nothing they can do". the recalls refused to be corrected by the dealership are as follows: 1/ #15V460, air bag safety recall; and 2/ #15V459, steering wheel wiring harness safety issue. I advised the service adviser I "will sue them and Chrysler if anything happens regarding one of those two safety recalls" since they refused to correct them. I just want the recalls corrected "before" some thing bad happens and they should not be allowed to refuse. Please, I would like to be contacted regarding this incident.
Service airbag system light comes on constantly. I have taken it to the dealer and they cannot find an issue. It is not only annoying, but flat out scares me to think that the airbags could inadvertently deploy, or fail when needed. There is no recall on the vehicle, nor can the dealer make heads or tails of the issue.
