Ok so I understand the actuator failing Dodge not really even mad it lasted pretty well. But where i fault you is the scam of trying to get me to pay 2900 dollars for a actuator not a turbo and actuator just the actuator. You are scamming people, but not me . I bought an aftermarket Turbo with a Brand new actuator from an aftermarket company that gets their actuators directly from Holset same as you for a grand less than you want for actuator only. You quoted me over 6 grand for turbo plus actuator and that was parts only! The other option is bye bye VGT . I really hate this option btw But you guys will get no more of my money.
For those of you in the same boat as me here are the options.
1) Mopar Reman actuator 2900 you still have to get a mechanic because it must be calibrated to turbo. 2) Cummins Brand New Actuator is 1400 but its out of stock along with most places ive called that are somewhat reasonably priced. 3) EBAY 900 i Dont trust EBAY but I really have no faith in Chrysler at this point either. (I have 3 Dodge vehicles at the moment so dont tell me about loyalty Dodge.Sam Adams Dodge in Cleburne Tx Skrewed my wifes airbag system on her Grand Caravan up when it was about 2 years old.) 4) Reman Turbo Brand new actuator from a aftermarket company same setup as stock but 1/3 the price.
How is it that a aftermarket company can buy a authentic part from the same manufacturer as you and offer it for 1/3 the price? You know you guys pay less than anyone for these because of the bulk that you get when you order them. This is a CON! Its not a big deal when its a few hundred dollar part but when Ive seen diesel rebuilds cost less than you charge for a actuator its criminal! Most trans rebuilds cost less than this actuator as well. Think about it you crooks!
