This truck was bought with 12k mile in June 2014. Soon after started to have random check engine lights and small issues with sensors(exhaust temp, and exhaust related sensors), then started to have U001 codes and random gauge fluctuations and movements.
At 16k started to act up more and more, would lose speed for few seconds to a minute, have a ABS light come on then turn off, ect. 21k injectors fuel lines leaked diesel into engine. This caused engine oil to rise and diesel to dilute engine oil. 23k started to have longer gauge and speedo outages. Between 24k-now 36k truck lost gauges for 3 months. During the 3 months I was told to wait for software update, which never fixed. I spent 15+ hours on phone with Ram customer care and gave them 3 weeks to fix truck before I hired attorney for Lemon law. They keep telling me to wait for updates, So I hired an attorney. Soon after dealer started to troubleshoot and replace parts. Dealer replaced ABS module and that fixed most of gauge issues, but still have random check engine/no bus/no communication codes.
(01/21/2015) I just got truck back after being down for over 3 weeks. Dealer replaced main harness from engine to cab. This lasted 10 feet, didn't even make it out of dealers parking lot before check engine light/ no bus came on. During the 3+ weeks I was forced to pay for my own replacement vehicle because the dealer did not having any loaners and Ram customer Care told me they wouldn't help since I had a attorney.
To sum up my experience; I'm a small business owner of a 24/7 repair business. I bought a new(er) truck to have no issues and have a professional looking vehicle. This was a huge mistake! Ram customer care has not tried to help me in any way, they just give me a B.S. line and tell me they will get dealer to fix asap. Then nothing happens. They have only follow through on 2 out of 15 commitments to call back. I have lost over $2100 in lost wages and fuel used to drive to dealerships. 3 times the vehicle left me stranded on side of road because it wouldn't start or turn over due to no BUS/communication to ECM. I have filmed few of the times it didn't start and what it did driving down the road, all on YouTube under 2013 Ram issues and Ram lemon.
I stress to anyone considering a Ram or a Chrysler product to reconsider.
