Total engine failure, loud knocking. Going to cost $7,400. at local well established repair shop, with remanufactured engine with 100,000 mile 3 year warranty. Pissed as hell. Don't ever buy a Ram with the 3.6 v6 engine. I've had older rams with the 5.7 go well over 200,000 miles with proper service, including the transmissions, and cooling systems. It is disgusting. I owe more than the current value of the vehicle. I would rather go buy another vehicle with $7,000 down, and let this piece of crap go back to the high interest rate finance company.
Update from Mar 9, 2024: Jasper Remanufactured engine ordered to replace the bass boat metal flake engine (inside). The oil pump failed, and inside the engine looks like metal flake according to the technician at Manis Automotive. This is a local large shop in SE Tennessee, and works on hundreds of vehicles a month, and has a great reputation in our area.
