I'm afraid that the hpfp will fail while I am driving with my wife and newborn in the vehicle whike driving. It's terrifying to have to put them in danger and drive this vehicle, but I need a vehicle to get to work everyday.
It's been over a year that FCA has known of the potential dangers of a high pressure fuel pump that suddenly stops working and has not produced a remedy. This is unacceptable. Driving a vehicle knowing that it could, at any time, shut down in heavy traffic and become immobile is unacceptable. If FCA cannot come up with a timely (too late for "timely") replacement part, NHTSA should force them into other options for owners.
On May 5, 2023 I was driving home when my new 2022 Ram 1500 ECODIESEL truck broke down. It has been at the dealership ever since then. The high pressure fuel pump went out. The dealership requested that I call Chrysler and request a buy back process because the pumps has a recall on it. So I called Chrysler and requested the buy back process and was informed by Chrysler today since they don-??t have the parts they are going back with the same pump even though it has a recall on it putting my life and my family life in danger. Please help me! How is possible that they can go back with the same parts when it has a recall on those parts?
There were two (2) separate Repair orders performed in late July 2022 by dealership on 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn truck. Afterwards, on 7/21/22 the Fire Dept responded to our home since new 2022 Dodge Ram 1500 truck with 1,225 miles was -??leaking gasoline-??? from engine compartment. The gasoline leak was pouring out the engine compartment onto the driveway and down into the street. This potential fire ??"? dilemma occurred just 2 weeks after dealership had replaced -??all the fuel injectors-?? in the engine. This was a dangerous situation my husband and family were put in due to thus defective truck. In addition, since the inception of leasing this truck the MIL light blinks constantly with daily notification regarding -??Powertrain Engine Malfunction-??! Seems very negligent for Manufacturer and dealership to have a defective truck that risks the consumer-??s life and the safety of their family with a fire hazard!??"? This defective truck had another repair order on Nov. 29, 2022 when truck began revving on its own and then lost power on roadway. We had to have the truck towed back to dealership yet again & again. This major defect occurred when the truck lost power while driving and the electrical dashboard oil / transmission indicators were acting erratically. Basically, the repair order indicates that the dealership replaced the same fuel injector that they replaced in back in July 2022 (twice for same replacement part). Lastly, , even after seven repairs the check engine light is continuously going on (indicating never ending mechanical problems). The dealership has never fixed this issue either since the truck is beyond repair.
Driving around 40mph on a busy road way I went to slow down and make a right hand turn into a shopping center. Truck died without warning, dash displayed normal start prompt screen then told me to shift to park. The lady behind me almost rear ended me. So it stopped the truck completley and restarted with no issue. Im now very concerned for the saftey of my family and myself not to mention I do tow a small but expensive bass boat on the weekends which could cause a major accident and or financial loss!

While operating the vehicle the engine and vehicle itself shut down entirely and I was unable to operate the vehicle. Second before the shut down, I did notice a battery light come up and then the vehicle was inoperable. Vehicle wouldn-??t start back up and had to be towed to the nearest manufacturer dealership. Wasn-??t even able to put in neutral to push it to a more convenient spot as everything is locked up. Vehicle is still in service as mechanics are unaware of what the issue is. This is a major safety concern because it turned off while driving on the road with no warning signs. Had this happened while I was driving on a fast moving highway, this could have ended much worse.
2022 Ram 1500 Vehicle with approximately 9000 miles, has stalled now twice while driving at speeds of 25 to 35 miles per hour and soon after shifts into park, and then will not start. One was on a busy street that caused risk of near accident, another was in neighborhood. Vehicle was towed after first stall, but dealership only saw stall on computer but did not have any codes or repairs identified. Vehicle also would not start on more than one occasion. Dealership cannot get in to service for 3 to 4 weeks.
When in tow haul mode the truck will get stuck in 3rd gear. Speed is limited to 30. Very dangerous when towing and on roads that require faster speed. Ram says the hope to fix the software issue sometime. They said do not tow. Affects all ram 1500 with etorque. Recall needed before accident.
Was sitting at a light (auto engine shut-off was on). When the light turned green, lifted off the break to push the gas to go. Truck shut off, all lights on the dashboard lit up and truck was automatically shifted into park with emergency brake on. Attempted to restart the truck several times. Truck finally started after 8th attempt. Was able to put into drive and made it home. Truck now has check engine light on. Checked the app for an error code. Says: Powertrain Engine Malfunction on May 25th, 2022 @ 0920am. EOBD/Injection System Failure. Reading online, seems like this is a common safety error and has caused accidents by instantly throwing the vehicle into park without warning and leaving the vehicle inoperable at times.
Driving at slow speed after vehicle sat overnight. Truck stalled, indicating place vehicle in park before starting. I shifted to park, additional lights and errors occurred. Disabled parking brake, and was able to start vehicle after two attempts.
While rolling to a stop and turning (3) times and once while slowing for speed bumps my 2022 Dodge Rebel 5.7L V8 Hemi with E-Torque shut off, the emergency brake applied itself and it shifted itself to park. This happened while turning onto a busy street where a bad accident could have happened because of it. There were no warning or indicators prior to the truck shutting off by itself. It has been to the dealership twice with no fix. I have had it for three weeks.
