The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V622000 (Visibility); however, the dealer set the recall appointment for January 2025. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2020 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the contact heard a loud booming sound. The contact stopped to inspect the vehicle, and it was discovered that the driver's side rear glass window panel had exploded outward causing chards of glass to enter the vehicle. The contact stated that during failure the rear defroster was activated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the driver's side rear glass window panel. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 30,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact stated that there was no impact to the window to cause the window to shatter. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a dealer to be inspected or repaired. The contact stated that while driving with the driver's and the passenger's side rear windows rolled down, the vehicle shook violently as if the tires were off the ground. The contact stated that with passenger's side rear windows rolled up, the shaking stopped. The contact pulled over and inspected the wheels but found no visual failures. The contact stated that the failure recurred after resuming driving. The contact mentioned that his step-dad had the same vehicle and experienced similar failures with the rear windows rolled down. The contact stated that there was an error in the dynamic design flow with similar 2020 Ram 1500's. neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000. The VIN was not available.
