Power Latch W/AJAR
Prior to ordering this part for a customer stating the Tailgate will not auto release or Ajar light is on when the tailgate is closed, first try adjusting the tailgate strikers to minimize the force required to close. The striker must be centered up/down in the latch opening. You have to balance tailgate flushness and closing effort by moving the strikers fore or aft. Striker position also affects closing effort. In most cases moving the right side striker rearward or the left side forward fixes the issue and maintains flushness within tolerance. On the standard tailgate, the ajar switch is on the right side latch only. Please contact FCA Redacted Content for diagnostic assistance and information to assist in problem resolution. If no response in 15 minutes, proceed with repair.
