Well, the problem went away for over a month and suddenly returned as I was driving on the highway. Same problem as before. When driving on the highway, it happened again when the 12" radio screen froze (again). I couldn't control the radio, the nav, the climate control - nothing. None of the touch screen buttons were responding. I was able to use the CarPlay feature to control my phone through Siri, so I was able to change what I was listening to and through playing around with the manual controls, I was able to raise and lower the temperature (but couldn't change it from face vents to foot vents). I have had to create workarounds by using the phone for Sirius since the damned radio is now breaking down regularly. Amazing that a two year old $70k truck has to be jury-rigged in order not to have to pull over to the side of the road for 1/2 hour.

The damned 12" radio screen is still frozen. This is a first. It would not unfreeze after sitting overnight. Screen is in the same frozen position it was yesterday. I have tried everything to unfreeze it and no luck. I will be trying to unfreeze it by disconnecting the battery tonight.

Driving on highway again when the 12" radio screen froze (again). Couldn't control the radio, the nav, the climate control - nothing. None of the touch screen buttons were responding. I stopped the car and waiting 20 minutes and when I started it up again, the buttons had unfroze.

Took the truck in for regular maintenance and told the service manager about it and asked them to check it out. They said they couldn't replicate the problem and had no service notice about the problem. He said that FCA sends out regular updates over the air and that if there was a glitch, that would fix it. He didn't know when a new one would be coming out and if it happened again, just keep turning off the truck and restarting it.

After this I checked the RAM forum and it turns out this is a pretty common problem with these and FCA is acting like they don't know about it when they do. Apparently there is a class-action suit for this problem in 2016-2018 Ram trucks underway in Kansas, but FCA has managed to keep it from being a national class-action suit. I paid $70k for a 2020 Ram truck and it has a major defect that FCA is denying. I can't tell you how angry I am about this.

Tried to unfreeze the frozen 12" Radio screen on the 2020 Ram Limited. Screen has been frozen for four days so I disconnected the battery last night and left it disconnected overnight. When I tried to start it this AM, the radio had a screen that said it was locked and I needed to put in the security code to unlock it. When I tried to enter a code, the screen was still frozen so I couldn't enter it. The screen then told me to start the Truck which I did, and the screen returned to the same frozen screen it had been on for four days.

I plan to call the dealer and take the Truck in tomorrow if I can. I want to show them the frozen screen so they can't tell me that "they can't replicate the problem I am describing". It will be hard for them to deny there's a problem if it stays frozen tomorrow.
