2019 Ecodiesel with 38k miles. Driving back to work on Easter Sunday, I work on the road, engine sounded like it threw a rod halfway through my 5 hour trip & died in the middle of nowhere. Had to get a tow truck & it was towed to nearest dealer, that was in Alexandria, LA. It has been sitting in the dealers lot for 16 days, they have not even looked at it yet. I have not been offered a loner, they tell me they don't know if it is under warranty even though it has a 100k powertrain warranty on it, & will get to it when they can. I called RAM customer service, they said since I am the 2nd owner they can't help me. It is the first domestic vehicle I have ever owned, it will be the last. I don't understand how there is no protection for consumers in this situation.
Very dangerous situation - stalled in a tunnel (Eisenhower tunnel in Colorado) for 4-5 minutes with 4 way flashers on and traffic slamming on their brakes to prevent a multi vehicle pileup. Strange, after 5-6 minutes, the engine started back up. While disabled, the car's brakes were locked and the car could not be shifted.
