When I first picked up the truck on December 12/14/2018 had a ABS light was on, on day 1. They took the truck in the back and said that they did a reset of the computer. (A hard reset) Truck was pretty good for the most part, over the next couple of months. Had multiple flashes telling me to break. Spoke several times the manager, he stated that the truck has probably just been going through a learning curve.
Then sometime in March they did a recall for a bonding wire I was told was for the braking system. Approximately a month later that's when things started getting bad. The truck would randomly break with all sorts of intermittent troubles, from Auto-dimming headlights, intermittent wipers, Auto dimming rear view mirror, radio locking out, radio not being able to change station volume link up to Bluetooth, auto-braking stopping the truck when nobody is in front or behind you, auto-braking kicking on, truck starting to break and shutting off.
A check service engine light quote was told by Manager. That was a code for the radio, dashboard flashing off all sensors, safety features and Driver convenience features turn off, anti-lock braking, forward collision, rear Auto breaking, lane correction, traction control, four-wheel drive, electronic throttle light, auto-parking mode, rear backup camera not working, towing mode, connection to trailer, trailer lights, Auto trailer sizing, tire air sensors, auto-parking brake, heated and cooled steering wheel and seats.
Basically every single featuring option for safety and Driver convenience would randomly flash with the dash going out and coming on turning all these features and options off. For the next 3 months or so we were fine, then towards the end of June had to return the vehicle for a recall on the brake pedal adjustment, stating the brake pedals could fall off. After the recall was repaired then the truck kept telling me to depress the gas pedal for the throttle sensor when you re-press the gas pedal.
The gas pedal stuck to the floor and the truck took off, my wife as a witness in her vehicle the truck sitting still. With the rear tire smoking had to turn the vehicle off gas pedal would not release, return the vehicle back to the dealer after just picking it up. This was 3 days in a row the truck was dropped off for breaking problem, I was told to pick it up and this is what happened.
Throughout August, September, October, November continuous complaints with dashboard flashing Out Auto braking, stopping all sensors and safety features being turned off. Multiple times the truck dropped off AND RETUNED TO ME WITH NO REPAIRS DONE. Vehicle has been towed in multiple times due to safety features and concerns vehicle not being safe to operate.
In December the vehicle was returned to me, for the umpteenth time being told there's no codes and they can't find out what's wrong with the vehicle. They keep saying they can't repair my concerns. Numerous times I explained to the manager who has told me he has had episodes of the trucks breaking. He said that when I pick up the vehicle, all the safety feature options are turned off manually. How can you diagnose the problem if you shut the problem off? I was told he was not the person who drove the vehicle on multiple occasions. Nearly every single time I've got the vehicle returned was dropped off with 3/4 to a full tank the truck was empty when I returned.
In December 2019 the truck was returned to me, I believe on the 14th. Then on the 16th the truck had final episode - the truck stopped in the middle of the road for no apparent reason and turned off. Chrysler refused to come and get the truck. The dealer refused to help me so I had the vehicle towed home then towed to the dealership. They've had the vehicle since January 23rd of 2020. I have not received any loaner or rental vehicle, or any information any compensation or any communication with the dealer or Fiat Chrysler.
