You can see in the picture that my truck is parked right next to another Rebel with the same suspension failure.
Ram-Dodge-Fiat-Chrysler needs to do the right thing. The company needs to take responsibility and acknowledge the problem. The company needs to recall and fix the defective air suspension. The company needs to give owners the option to replace the system with a traditional suspension so we do not need to worry about being able to drive our truck safely. My three children have been in my truck on a highway many times when the suspension failed and dropped down to entry mode. It is not safe. They no longer want to drive in my truck because they are worried they will get hurt.
Every dealership near me tells me this is a known issue but there it is up to Chrysler to cover the fix. Right now, my truck is not drivable because it is too cold outside. It is sitting at the service center and I am told it will be $4,000 to repair.
I have never been in an accident. I have never used the truck to tow anything. I haven't even taken it off-road. I service and maintain my truck with quality products prior to the recommended time/mileage. Next week will mark 5 years from the day I drove my truck off the lot. I am a teacher...I should not have to be dealing with a completely failed truck suspension just from driving it to and from my school. There should be NO problem with my suspension.
My friend's 2017 Rebel's air suspension failed within the first year of owning his truck. He was lucky since it happened while under warranty but it still took 4 months and three visits to the dealer to fully fix the issue. After taking me to the dealer for my truck, he is now looking to sell his Ram before his new suspension quits.
There is a Class Action Lawsuit in Canada about this issue. There are at least 1.9 million hits on Google documenting this issue. All of us paid a premium for this truck and should not have to worry about the suspension failing. The US needs to follow Canada's lead and start a Class Action.
