This issues is crazy.. took it to the dealer for the engine light to find it’s the gas cap / sensor. Not only that the gas factory tank intake spring was broken inside the tank… ugh. Crap design. Not only that most gas pumps stop filling this tank where you have to stand on the handle to reset the pump all the time. The factory repair shop mechanic knew well of this flaw and said that I had to come out of pocket to fix their design problem. This is unsatisfactory there should be some kind of law or recall on this. This is just ridiculous.
New lease vehicle. Got the vehicle on Friday, September 15th. That evening, the "Check Gas Cap" message came across the dashboard (with 125 miles on the truck). Truck was already full of gas when purchased so we checked the cap and it was on properly. The "check engine" light came on this morning (Monday, September 18th with 298 miles on the truck). I topped the fuel off thinking that might solve the problem but no luck. Now have to call the dealership to schedule an appointment to have it looked at. NOT expected for a NEW TRUCK. Will respond later after the dealership takes a look.....
