The contact owns a 2016 Ram 1500 equipped with Goodyear Wrangler sr-ablk0E tires, size: P275/60/R20. While driving 70 mph, the sidewall detached from the front driver's side tire without warning. The failure damaged the vehicle's fender. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the Goodyear tire was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that an investigation would have to take place, but the contact refused the request. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 37,900.
