I have read that several complaints about the same thing. It's a 463 code where my gas tank goes from full to empty as soon as I start moving. I’m trying to run my gas down so they can drop down the gas tank and replace sensor, I hope. If they tell me I will have to get a new fuel pump, I’m really going to get mad. I have never had this issue in any other cars I’ve owned.

Truck is a 2016 and I shouldn’t have to deal with this costly repair. Truck has 27,000 miles in it. A recall needs to happen. You are hearing about the people who report this issue. How many others are out there that had the same issue that don’t report it? With such low mileage I should not have any issue. I have had several issue with this truck but they all have been under warranty so far. What happens when the same part fails again?

I’ve been a Ram fan since 2007. I was hoping to keep this truck for a long time, but having so many issue, it’s time to find another kind. This will be money out of pocket for something that’s not normal wear and tear.

2 days before my wedding, my dash lights up like a Christmas tree. Fuel sensor failure, gas gauge bottoms out and check engine light comes on. What the hell??? I just filled it up. It did this as I was pulling into my driveway. It was dark and I was tired. I decided not to drive it to work the next day because I honestly had not idea if it would get me there.

I did some research and it seems to be a common problem. In my research I realized I could continue driving it. And since I needed it for the next few days I would deal with it when I got home from my honeymoon.

When the tank got to around half full it started working again. Nice!! Then it gets to 1/4 tank and does it again. Grrr.. I filled it back up and it works fine. At half a tank, it goes out again. I finally called the dealership, told them what was going on and made an appointment to have it replaced - just he fuel sensor. It should cost about 180.00. I had my husband take it in. 2 hours later he was told that we had to replace the pump because it was once component at 1200.00 and I would have to come back because they don't have the part. What??? No way. I don't have 1200.00 dollars laying around. I thought it was gonna cost me 180.00. So now. I still have the issue and it cost me 150.00 to tell me they won't replace just the sensor. For 30.00 more they could have replaced the part, which I have seen done on youtube a lot. I took it in because I didn't want to do it myself.

After seeing all the complaints, now I am wondering if they will recall the problem and if I should just let it go.
