Engine light came on. Had vehicle towed to the dealership on May 21, 2019. Dealership explained engine problems are a result of Rodents (Squirrel) eating through the vehicle wiring in the engine department.

I did a little research and found out that this is a very common occurrence, because of the material the vehicle wires is covered with. I read the wiring is covered with a Soybean Base material that is highly attractive to Rodents.

I also read that Vehicle Manufactures switch to this type of material because of its cheap cost, but disguise it is an eco-friendly move. What's even more sinister, is your vehicle warranty won't cover it in spite of the Manufacturer knowing fully well what would be the outcome of vehicle by using this material. I paid too much money for this to be happening, this is BS!

My engine light came on and there was a noise coming from engine. The lifter slipped out the PLASTIC part it was sitting in. Who uses a plastic part in a vehicle that gets so hot. It messed up the camshaft. My vehicle was the 3 rd one in shop at the same time for same thing. The hemi enginie hasn’t been perfected I think the company should be responsible for it. It is a common problem with these vehicles and the repair cost is too much.

Engine light goes on then cruise control will not work. The fuel tank takes a very long time to fill when EVAP filter plugs.

Who knew I couldn't drive a new 4x4 truck on gravel roads without issues. I need to take a day off work to take this taken care of on warranty .. For now, Then it will cost a day of work plus parts and labour. This vent should be rerouted at the cost of Dodge while it is still under Warranty before it happens again, I heard others had it done and cost them over $600.00. I had a 2014 Dodge that did the same thing within 20,000km.

Something needs to be done. Not everyone drives on blacktop !!!

Bought Dealer Demo with 3000 miles in September of '16. I now have 27,000 miles on the truck. about 2000 miles ago, month and a half, engine light. took it in. TSB to update computer. one week later, light back on. Evap system leak. One week later, again. did another computer update. one week later, Evap system leak. cleared code as their smoke machine broke. One week later, light on again. Service manager did another computer update and still said evap leak. one week later it is on again.

Service Manager is a friend and says that he has had massive issues with the computers. smoke machine is supposed to be in this week. A salesman has offered to put me in a '17, but wants me to pay my upside down. I should not be out anything since I just bought this truck to not have problems.

p0304 cylinder 4 misfire

New vehicle, check engine light on several occasions. Asked me about gas cap, told them I scanned it and I'm not a newbie. Finally after second time at the dealer, they are ordering plugs and coil pack. Time will tell. Follow up when I get it back.

1500 Larime 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission

engine light on and runs rough at idle

They have replaced the O2 sensors, a week later brought it back. After a few days they ordered a new computer. A week later it arrived I brought the truck back to them and that did not fix the problem. They are in the middle of replacing the engine wiring harness. They told me it would be 3 days, when I checked back it turned into a 6 day job, and the mechanic does not work weekends. Do not go to the service dept. at Northwest Dodge in Houston, TX.

Update from Jun 28, 2016: Dodge has agreed to buy back the truck. After 9 days I still have not got a call back from the dealer to move along with the process. They did a great job selling me the vehc. but not so much on replacing it.
