Faulty air suspension, this is a very, very common issue in Ram trucks. Driver front went down, then back end. The light came on to fix air suspension. Its very dangerous to drive with suspension down. The fact that there are thousands of trucks out there with this issue and no recall is really uncalled for. They continue to fail several times over and over again. If there's no recall I would have to imagine there will be a class action law suit. Every mechanic I've talked to is in disbelief that this issue has not been addressed.

Since December of 2018 my 2015 Ram 1500 laramie longhorn has been in the shop a total of 5 times due to the air suspension failing. They've replaced the compressor on several occasions, replaced both front air bags, replaced fuses, compressor lines etc. Most recently I picked up my truck after it was int he shop for 2 weeks, 2 days later the suspension failed again. I've been traveling down the highway at 70+ mph when the suspension suddenly drops to its lowest setting and begins bouncing uncontrollably down the road. I've gotten messages to service air suspension immediately after several occasions. I've lost a total of over 30 days of vehicle use which seriously impedes my ability to run my business as I depend on my vehicle for hauling materials etc. These failures have amounted to thousands of dollars in repairs. Fortunately for me I have the lifetime warranty on my vehicle. While this has saved me considerable amounts of money, I've still paid over $1000 in deductibles only to have the system fail again. My truck has been in the shop in December of 2016, March 2019, April 2019, May 2019, November of 2019 and January of 2020, all for the air suspension. The vehicle will drop to its lowest setting and fail to raise after being parked, while driving down the road, overnight etc. Whether driving down the highway or on local surface streets the suspension suddenly fails. There's no rhyme or reason to why or when it occurs. It is extremely unsafe and quite a disappointment after spending nearly $70,000 on a vehicle. This issue should be addressed by the manufacturer immediately before someone has a terrible accident. I've seen numerous trucks with the same issues at the dealership while mine has been in for repairs.

I live in Minnesota so obviously its a cold climate. My Dodge rebel continually freezes in the downward position making driving it very difficult and a huge safety concern. Sometimes the issue happens while driving. Is there a recall? there definitely should be.

The contact owns a 2015 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle vibrated while driving. The vehicle was taken to champaign Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (1906 moreland blvd, champaign, il 61822, (217) 352-4273) where it was discovered that the axle was wearing out before the bearing from being improperly heat treated, which caused the steel to become weaker than the bearing. The dealer stated that the vehicle was not included in the unknown recall for the axle failure with the bearing. The dealer referred the contact to the manufacturer to get a case number and to have the manufacturer contact the dealer back to have the repairs completed. The manufacturer denied that a recall existed and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 148,800.

Truck hits bumps and it like slides all over the road. And I have a clunking noise on passenger side don't know what it's from. Dealer looked couldn't find out what it was. I was on the highway and hit a bump and almost lost control. That's how bad it moves. My wheel bearings seem ok, and my tie rod ends so not sure if shocks could cause crazy movement from bumps or not.

While driving 2,000 miles from home, on a highway at 65mph in Montana while pulling a camper trailer, I got a message to immediately repair my air suspension system. I stopped, checked out the system and found the truck was sitting flat on the axle, causing an extremely rough ride. Other parts of the truck are shaking violently when road bumps are encountered. In my opinion, it is not safe to operate this vehicle in this condition, but being so far from home, I have no choice. I read online forums and learned where many hundreds/thousands of people are complaining about this issue, and that Ram knows of the problem. I am seeking a voluntary recall for this system. Costs to the consumer have been reported as being anywhere from $2,000 to $7,000. Fca and Ram trucks need to address the problem before lives are lost due to loss of control. I will be contacting owners in all online forums requesting that they file a complaint on this issue, to illustrate the severity of the problem.

Air suspension would fail frequently in frigid temperatures. First occurred winter of 2016.was a regular occurrence until receiving a software update. Dealer told me the problem was a result of a software design flaw in the air suspension control module. They updated the software on 2-15-2019 (42,000 miles) and somehow felt justified charging me $90. Chrysler sent a service bulletin (08-051-16) to the dealers on 4-23-2016 noting the design flaw and recommending the software update. I was not notified of the fix until after my warranty expired. I feel this is unsafe and very unethical.

The air suspension on my Ram eco diesel 2015 pickup has failed. The vehicle was in motion when the suspension failed. I had to drive 25 mph on the highway just to get it back to town. This happened last winter also and was repaired under warranty. For 2 weeks the truck sat while Ram tried to figure out what to do. The truck can not softly be driven until fixed. Ram is aware of this issue and knows that the cold weather is causing the problems. What can the government do to force Ram to recall the truck for safety reasons?

I turned in a 2013 Ram 1500 because the air ride suspension system failed four times in five months. On October 26, 2018, I looked at 12, yes 12, trucks and settled on a 2105 Ram 1500 rebel, also with the air ride suspension. On February 8, 2109, the air ride suspension system failed on the 2105 Ram too! the 2015 is currently at the dealership. I have filed a complaint with Fiat/Chrysler. When this system fails, it feels like you are no longer driving on tires but logs which could cause someone to crash. The air ride needs immediate service alarm displayed upon start up on the 2015. The alarm displayed three times on the highway and once each on a residential street and while parked. The dealership was great with the 2013 but I have not heard what is going to happen with the 2015 except that the repairs would be $2,700. On both trucks, I was told, by the dealership staff, the left front air spring leaked and the pump & manifold assembly stopped working.

In cold weather the air ride suspension stops working. While sitting or driving the air bags lose all air pressure and drops all the way down to the bump stops. I am unsure exactly what is causing the exact problem but it is extremely unsafe because the truck bounces all over the road every bump you hit. I called my dealer and he said he has four trucks in his shop at the moment with the same problem. This needs to get resolved.

When I put more than 300lbs of load on the bed, driving at a speed greater than 65 mph drive over a pot hole or small deep on the road/highway the truck starts bouncing around, start at the right front side to rear left side, to the point that the anti-lock brake kicked in, it is so unsafe that we and my family got so scare, I thought the truck was going to roll over, it has happened in multiple occasions, very very unsafe. Checked the shock absorbers not leaking, no broken coil springs, please look into it. It is unsafe, please do something about it before someone dies.

When below 20 degrees the air suspension loses its ability to maintain proper ride height. Sometimes the truck will sit nose down, rear down, or all but one corner down. Usually after sitting outside in the colder temps is when the truck starts to do this however once it has done so while moving at approximately 20 mph. When trying to inflate the air bags the truck typically blows the 40A fuse controlling the air suspension which renders it inoperable until replaced. Seems to be a wide spread problem in any climate that sees colder temperatures. Biggest issue is what happens if the system gives out while driving at any sort of speed.

I live in international falls, Minnesota and our area recently sustained -30 below farenheit temperatures for an extended period of time. During this cold weather, the air ride suspension system quit working and I currently have no suspension. I am not the only person in the area that has had this problem with a Dodge Ram 1500 truck with air ride suspension. I spoke with another male on 1/2/18 that had the same problem with his 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 with air ride suspension. This problem occurred while the vehicle was sitting.
