So if you have a Ecodiesel Ram, sell it quick. I first went to a dealership in Anaheim, CA when on a trip towing a travel trailer do to engine using coolant with no visible leaks. This was the exact symptom the recall information letter said to watch for with the arGR cooler recall from 11 months ago. They have a “00265 Managed Allocation Level 1 - Dealer is Limited to order 1 in 7 days, eligible to order 1 piece(s) on Aug 21, 2020â€. It's a list price part of $19.75. This $20 part will now cost $2300 to repair at minimum.
Let's get to worst problem, because it was a fire a contract company has to investigate before the dealership back home in Washington can even touch the truck. Here's the real big problem, the review of the investigation can take 2-4 weeks. And the repair parts can take 2-4 weeks for the dealer to get them. Im looking at 2 weeks already before they even look at the investigation that occurred. 2-4 weeks for them to come to a decision, and 2-4 weeks to get parts and a couple days to get it repaired. So I could be up to 3 months with my truck held hostage by FCA.
Oh heres the kicker, no rental is authorized durning the investigation, none. Oh and theres no phone number to the department that is handling the case, only internal message that takes a day to have a return call from. So now what do you do when you live in rural America and you need to get to work? Thanks Chrysler for cementing me never supporting your products again. So again if you own an Ecodiesel. Sell it, if you're looking for a truck look elsewhere besides Ram, they don't stand behind their product.
