I recently had the approved emissions modification performed on my 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel. Since the modification, the truck has a terrible lag when I take off, sometimes up to 5 seconds. This happens when I put my foot on accelerator and try to go. This lag is going to get me hit and possibly killed. Online forums of fellow Ram ecodiesel owners state the same problem. Ram needs to get this fixed and push out an update that will fix the problem or I'm going to get injured or killed in this truck. It is no longer safe to drive because of this recall modification.

V08 recall. Acceleration from any speed, including standing start is dangerously delayed, pulling into and across traffic is unpredictable. There is no throttle response until around 70% throttle, then acceleration is unpredictable and late. Fuel consumption is beyond passable for such a potentially efficient and powerful engine. The purpose of the vehicle is light towing. The power train has been tuned to the point that it's useless, the vgt fights at above 70% capacity to maintain torque and power to the wheels. Fuel injection timing ranges from -17 to +5 degrees, only to maintain emissions efficiency, the new ECU programming completely ignores efficient engine management- focusing on emissions control. System and engine components are not designed for the crazy egt temps that come with the late fuel injection. Engine fires- intake manifold in particular- are becoming very common. Will it take a few fatalities before something is done. All to prove some epa point. I could be getting 30 plus mpg, without the egr system, still target specific exhaust gas emissions reductions and get some reliability without fearing my vehicle will burst into flames or get T-boned trying to cross traffic.

After the aem update related to the eco diesel emissions settlement, the truck has a dangerous throttle lag, especially at cold start. I have pulled out numerous times only to have essentially no response before a vehicle comes along at highway speed. I can put the pedal on the floor and it can take several seconds before the truck finally starts to accelerate. This happens with an empty truck but is even more dangerous when towing. I am not sure how much of this is throttle response, transmission or turbo lag but it is a scary feeling to not be able to merge normally into traffic. I returned to the dealer and they tried a reflash of the computer to adjust the accelerator position sensor. I thought it was a little better for a short period but it is as bad as ever.

After V-08 emissions recall on Ram echo diesel truck lost horsepower and getting lower fuel mileage. The truck barely has the power to move itself much less any towing capability. The fuel mileage went from 20 mpg highway to 15 mpg highway. Have had the truck back in for service three times with no improvement. Ram is telling me that there is not anything they can do to fix the problem, because it is a government recall. I did not purchase this truck to have it get 15 mpg on the highway and have no horsepower to tow. This truck is used as a ranch truck, so towing is what it needs to be doing. My only option now is to trade it in for a bigger truck at a financial hit on my wallet. This problem should of never been allowed to happen with the recall oversite. I know I'm not the only one having this issue because I have talked with many other truck owners and they all are having the same issue. I would apricate a fix to this issue because paying $50,000 for a truck only to have a recall take away the reason it was purchased is wrong. A new truck is going to cost around $65,000 and now that it's out that all Ram 1500 eco diesel have this problem our trade in value has dropped. I had a trade in offer on my truck last month for $30,000 and as of last week it dropped to $21,000. So as you can tell this recall is affecting a lot of people. Please look into this issue.

I have received various recall notices on this vehicle which I would like someone to look into this to see if this car qualifies as a lemon. These items have been fixed by the different dealer ships, but have more than 5 recalls is a bit too much.

Metal fragments in the engine and I have been to two different dealerships for powertrain warranty for repeated and ongoing repairs since fall of 2018 the first dealership did not replace the engine when the metal fragments were found in my engine after a cylinder misfire 5 and 7 they continued with all kinds of repairs and did further damage to my entire truck. I have since taken to another dealership where I was told and given proof for my VIN that I need an engine replacement but Chrysler refuses to do it based on the powertrain warranty and stand behind the initial problem and what needs to be done (engine mark service manager. They decided to continue with part replacement after part replacement which is billed to Chrysler under the powertrain warranty that I have on my truck. I believe they not only lied but committed fraud with all of these repairs. They could not even stop the oil from leaking each time they sent my vehicle home with me. I took it to billion in bozeman to have them look over for damages and see if my truck was properly repaired. I was told that I should have had an engine replacement due to metal fragments in the engine oil at the very beginning of the repairs. But butte decided to milk my truck and Chrysler for hours and hours as well as parts that who knows if they really replaced them. They also damaged a handful of things on my truck that had to be repaired at billion Dodge. I have never been treated or taken advantage of as butte mile high has done. In talking to others that know vehicle engine repair there were parts that do not break that they claimed broke, they also stated they honed a cylinder which would have required them pulling the engine and proper honing is all cylinders, not just one. They also cut pieces out of my basically newer truck (52,000) miles and left damages.

Ecodiesel - following recall aem (approved emissions modification) update, throttle response is extremely poor at times. When turning onto a roadway from a stop the vehicle is sometimes very slow to accelerate, risk of collision due to being unable to increase to safe speed. When trying to accelerate under this condition the vehicle will suddenly abruptly accelerate which sometimes results in wheel spin (loss of traction). This happens in dry and wet conditions.

Re: 2015 Ram 1500 pickup with 3.0 ecodiesel engine and automatic transmission following the V08 emissions recall, drivability has been seriously reduced and has created dangerous throttle lag and improper automatic transmission gear selection. I would summarize these issues as turbo lag and improper shift mapping. When accelerating from a complete stop there is a 2-3 second lag before the vehicle begins to move even if the throttle is fully depressed. If you are executing a right or left turn into traffic or crossing an intersection this will leave you exposed to a "T-bone" collision. After this lag it will then accelerate rapidly at full throttle, much faster than you are expecting. If you are executing a turn this could cause loss of control or a wider turn than desired, possibly into another lane of traffic or off the far side of the road. This behavior is even more pronounced when the vehicle has not been run (cold engine). Climbing a moderate hill shortly after pulling out of my driveway forces the driver to manually downshift the automatic transmission to first gear to get any forward travel. Again, the vehicle will rapidly accelerate after the 2-3 second lag. Once returning to "drive" at 15-25 mph the transmission will up-shift several gears and then begin slowing, dropping engine RPM to 1,000, again forcing a manual down-shift to second or third gear to maintain speed. The engine produces almost no power until the engine reaches 2000 RPM. All of this behavior began after the noted recall. I have contacted a Ram dealer regarding this performance and was told that this is a common complaint. They mentioned that the factory was aware of this but has no remedy available.

Following the epa mandated reprogramming, the vehicle suffers throttle lag to a degree that it is unsafe. From a stop, especially while warming up, a lag of 3 to 5 seconds is experienced. Sometimes when pulling into traffic, the truck will begin to move, only to hesitate after it's already too far into the intersection to abort the action. This has only happened since the mandated reprogramming.

Epa has required an aem flash update for my Ram ecodiesel. This update has become a major safety issue. Due to the update, when the engine temperature is below 160 degrees Fahrenheit, there is a 3-5 second delay in acceleration. 0N 7/8/19, leaving the dealership from receiving the epa regulated update, I had to make a left turn across traffic. Not knowing what the aem update had done to my vehicle, I pulled out of the lot and tried to accelerate. My vehicle rolled into 3 of the 6 lanes of traffic. I had the peddle as far as it would go and during that 3-5 seconds, my vehicle was sluggishly going 4 mph. Once that 3-5 seconds passed, the vehicle then accelerated rapidly as it should with the peddle to the floor. Once the engine temperature get over 160 degrees, the delay drops from 3-5 seconds down to 1-3 seconds. I have learned to not chance anything pulling in to oncoming traffic. That one day leaving the dealership, I was lucky to not have been injured in a serious accident. This safety issue is something that needs to be addressed.

After receiving the updated engine programming recall on my ecodiesel Ram, the throttle response is dangerously slow when accelerating from a dead stop. There is a several second delay from me applying pressure to the throttle pedal and the engine reacting and accelerating. It's very difficult to judge when turning into traffic because of this delay. Could easily cause someone to be rear-ended because the truck does not accelerate as expected. This was not the case prior to the recall.

After recieving fca's recently released recall for the aem emissions recall the trucks performance is dangerously erratic. Emissions recall update involving V08 has forced my truck performance to now cause for concern the way I am able to drive my truck safely. The pedal response is terrible compared to the "stock software" and is a slow reaction until the truck is "warmed" up to about 150F degrees. Because this software update is released in the summer it should take less time to warm up but living in Michigan, the truck will take a lot longer to warm up during the winter months which will a) not allow me to drive safely through an intersection any more and B) force other drivers to hit their brakes due to a lack of acceleration my truck now has and either hit me or have them avoid my truck causing accidents. The lack of acceleration or "lag" as it is called is for about 2-4 seconds which does not allow the truck to gain any speed worthy of traveling onto a road with traffic. The vehicle should be able to "get out of it's own way" like it was before the V08 was installed. Another issue is that once the truck is able to move because of the "lag" going away finally the engine is then over-revved at an un-normal RPM. The issue with that will be in the winter time when there is ice and snow on roads and the rear wheels will spin on that slippery surface. The most common occurrence for this lag is after start up and starting to drive my truck onto roadways or across intersections. The scariest moment was when I had a very reasonable amount of space to pull out onto a roadway, making a left turn, from a stop and a semi truck caught up to me from the right and I was forced to go to the middle turn lane instead of a drive-able lane to avoid the truck because my acceleration performance had diminished to nothing for the 2-4 seconds meanwhile more oncoming traffic is headed towards me as well. The truck seems to go into traffic fine, but will not speed up regardless of pedal position.

Since applying the ecodiesel settlement ECU flash, my vehicle is downright dangerous to drive. Especially when not fully warmed up, shifting and turbo lag makes the vehicle nearly undriveable in certain circumstances. The gas pedal has a huge lag and non-linear behavior (press to floor, nothing, then everything all at once). Shifting, passing, fuel econony, and driveability were hugely impacted by their emissions update and it has made this expensive truck unsafe, because it is unpredictable based on vehicle and transmission "warmup". when cold the truck is unsafe.

Fca required V08 recall was completed and their aem installed to the PCM/tcm. I picked my truck up and immediately noticed it was down on power. Since I have lost 4-5mpg average over what I was getting before the aem was installed. The truck is overall down on power since the aem was installed. As well the truck is dangerous to drive until the coolant temp reaches at least 150 degrees F. the truck has no power when the engine is below 150F and can't get out of its own way and leaves me vulnerable to a collision due to turbo lag and lack of power. If I pull into traffic to merge or cross an intersection my fear is I will not be able to accelerate quickly enough or avoid an accident should I need to. I cannot allow my wife to drive the truck any longer due to the dangers and lack of power.

Had the ECM modification done pursuant to the emissions settlement between Fiat Chrysler and the epa. Vehicle has become a terrible slug with horrible acceleration, and I have now had numerous incidents where it won't accelerate quickly enough to make a left turn without scaring me for fear of getting T-boned by oncoming traffic. Similar problems merging into highway traffic; it just won't get the job done. It is clearly not the vehicle I purchased nor the vehicle it was before this software "downgrade".
