Two accidents and was denied recall - even though my 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 steering component has been defective and caused an accident. Accident #1 February 16, 2016 brakes did not function well. Car did not brake well in the rain, was coming to a red light with a car in front of me, had to push on the brakes and they were not braking. Dodge Ram 1500 skid and hit the back of the car in front. Accident #2 March 12, 2016 loss of steering control and brakes did not work. I was stopped at a red light and it was raining. When the light turned green I started a slow left turn when: (1) the Dodge Ram lost traction, (2) Dodge Ram over steered to the left from the steering input suddenly losing power, and (3) the check engine light and ABS light came on and (4) my brakes stopped working. I tried to counter steer to move the truck to the side to the street but the truck would not stop. The truck then skid, went over the curb and hit a light post that fell on the right side of the Dodge Ram and damaged the car heavily. If it had fallen on the roof my passengers and I would be dead. Police report and four witnesses. Eleven days after the second accident, a recall for Dodge Ram 1500 model years 2015-2016 came out for steering. The recall is for the identical malfunctioning steering component that caused my second accident. Called manufacturer and was told that my VIN # is not part of the recall, which means for them that my car was made at a different facility from the recalls and is not of concern for them. Despite that my 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 is the make, model and year of the recall and despite the fact that I told them I had just had that exact steering malfunction, I was denied the recall.

The vm motor has numerous failures resulting from the camshaft gear on the fuel pump side of the motor slipping and causing catastrophic engine failure. These problems will occur generally after 70K miles. There is a process currently performed by D&J diesel in midvale Utah to permanently fix this problem. Ecodiesel owners paid a premium for the diesel upgrade since diesel motors are renown for their longevity. This achilles heal marring the reliability and causing an unsafe time bomb should have been addressed by the manufacturer to recall the vehicles. Thus far Ram has not taken action. Attached are a few links describing failures. www.pirate4X4.com/forum/general-chit-chat/2242010-real-world-ecodiesel-reliability-so-far-4.html www.ecodieselram.com/forum/threads/engine-failure-148000-miles.478/ www.ram1500diesel.com/forum/Ram-1500-diesel-general-discussion/5710-my-dealer-has-2-blown-ecodiesel-trucks-2.html www.ram1500diesel.com/forum/Ram-1500-diesel-mechanical/8564-eco-diesel-engine-failures.html www.ram1500diesel.com/forum/Ram-1500-diesel-mechanical/7275-2014-Ram-loud-ticking-noise-engine-maybe-camshaft-bearing-failure.html www.ram1500diesel.com/forum/Ram-1500-diesel-general-discussion/2833-engine-blew-up-23.html

Follow-up to complaint numbers: 10809870 & 10818694, 2015 Ram 1500 laramie limited 4X4 component part or system that caused the safety risk - unknown I took delivery of my truck from the service center on 01/20/2016. The body control module was replaced. On 02/14/2016, my wife and I were headed out for valentines dinner and I started my truck in the garage. The truck suddenly went dead electronically and engine-wise again, in the garage. Again, the truck could not be restarted and again nothing worked. Thankfully, we never got a chance to drive out of the garage and there was no safety concern. My truck will be towed back to the dealership again tomorrow.

While the truck was been at the dealership from Oct 5th to present, the uconnect system sent me and email warning at 4:30pm on Oct. 16th about a malfunction indicator light regarding the power train. When I went to pickup the truck on Oct 20th the engine warning light was on and the service manager could not get it to go off -so we left it there. This was after the dealership fixed the oil in the coolant system, which was found to be caused by a broken oil coolant pump. The new warning message that was sent states "powertrain: Prolonged driving with the malfunction light on could cause damage to the engine control system. If the malfunction light is flashing, sever catalytic converter damage and power loss will soon occur. Have your vehicle serviced at your dealership immediately."

At speeds between 50 and 70 mph vehicle has excessive vibration that seems to be from the rear of the vehicle. Had tires balanced by a tire shop and problem persisted. Dealership replaced all four tires and wheels and the problem still persists. Informed dealership of tsb sb-16-001-1, which is exactly the problem I have. They informed me they've never heard of the tsb. Similar to other complaints filed and researched concerning rear vibration issues with 2015 Ram trucks.

I work at marysville axle plant, marysville mi, they have had a serious problem with the rear axle catching fire due to axle shaft being tight at the bearing causing the bearing journal rubbing on the bearing during vehicle operation causing fire, I have been told of 4 vehicles catching fire by my supervisor, they are tearing apart axles at an off site warehouse near the axle shaft supplier in corunna mi, I don't know who they are using to do this work or if they are even qualified to do it. I have built these axles for over 20 years and there is a lot to rebuilding them including air testing for leaks, this plant in marysville mi is run by zf and all who work here are leased fca employees on plant floor, I have not seen anything as far as a recall and I feel this is very serious as the rear axle is near the fuel tank and I feel they are trying to hide this by doing all repair off site and not have to announce a recall as I have been told thousands have to be repaired please don't take this lightly as I feel its very important you follow thru with an investigation, this has been going on for the past 3 weeks, thanks for your valuable time.

2015 Ram 1500 sport 4X2 - when traveling on the highway at speeds above 65 mph, the rear end begins to vibrate/shake to the point controlling the vehicle becomes a concern. If you slow down it goes away but then comes right back when going 65 or over again. Vibration is felt in the seat but not the steering wheel or pedals. Was taken to dealership on 9/11 and tires were re-balanced. Dealership stated that fixed the issue when it did not. Going back to dealership on 9/28 to have it looked at again. This has been reported by many and needs to be fixed before someone loses control of their Ram vehicle and crashes. If I were to hit a bump it would be very easy to lose control due to the horrible vibration.

From day one I have had a severe vibration from the rear of my truck at speed above 60 mph it will vibrate the floor board and front seat and center console severely. After many discussions with Ram and the dealer have agreed to replace my good year sra 275-60-20 with a new set of tires same type. To rectify the problem they did so on 8-28-2015 9950 miles it has made no difference. I brought this tsb I found here on NHTSA id number 10056977 service bulletin no. 16-001-14 to thier attention they say they have never heard of that tsb I am very concerned because after some research on my own it seems there are a growing number of 2015 1500's with this same issue. It it needs to be moved to a recall because it could be a hazard waiting to happen and it could be causing other damage to the truck. I am going by the dealer today 8-31-2015 to see what they are going to do now, vehicles today are to expensive to have these type of issues mine has been going on for 10000 miles and no fix in sight this is my 5th attempt to get the problem fixed.

Bought a brand new 2015 Dodge Ram 1500, the first week I had an issue with one of the windows not going back up, about a month later I was driving and the new knob shifter, went into neutral by itself while I was driving. Meant to take it in, but had been so busy with work, that I was going to wait until the first oil change. I noted those two issues on an email review/survey that Dodge hounded me to fill out. Exactly two months after owning the truck on July 28th, the same day I made my second payment, I was at the garage at work, left the truck on and put it in park, got out of the car, closed the door and as I was getting ready to go around the truck to go inside my job, the car started to back out by itself, I tried getting back into the truck to stop it but unfortunately, I failed, the truck almost ran me over. Thankfully a cement beam stopped this from happening.
