New Safety Recall Advanced Communication ? P13040214
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) announced a safety recall on certain 2014 model year (DS) RAM Truck (1500 series).
The transmission case may have an improperly machined park rod guide plate mounting surface. This could cause a loss of park rod guide plate fastener clamp load and eventually the park rod guide plate fasteners may loosen. A loose park rod guide plate and fasteners may not allow the park pawl to fully engage. This condition could cause unintended vehicle movement and cause a crash without warning.
Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all involved vehicles to inspect the transmission case. Transmissions found with an improperly machined park rod guide plate mounting surface must be replaced.
Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established methods used in the past.
