I traded in a 2013 RAM Crew Cab 4X4 with the 3.21 gear ratio to get a new 2014 RAM Crew Cab 4X4 with the 3.55 gear ratio. It was not discovered until February 2015 when I saw a person was taking FCA to court because they had the wrong gear ratio 3.21 instead of the 3.55 the window sticker said. FCA would not change it to the 3.55 the window sticker said. I called my selling dealer and found out my gear ration was also wrong.
On April 10, 2015 and informed them of the problem I called FCA more than 12 times asking for help. Only after many calls was I offered several options. A buy back which would have cost me $10,000.00 to accept. Or $ 750.00 in MOPAR bucks. All I wanted was the correct gear ratio I bought the truck for. Mr. Rob Rumahi refused to budge saying FCA never made a RAM V6 like that, he said it was impossible to change the gear ratio, that is was NEVER available at any time with the 3.6 V6 engine. I was offered a remote start and a quad folding bed cover. I accepted it ONLY because Mr. Rob Rumahi said take it or leave it we are done. The 3.21 gear ratio can only tow 4,200 pounds and the 3.55 gear ratio can tow 7,200 pounds. My wife and I are retired and we expected to buy a travel trailer that weighed 6,300 pounds. Now We can't buy a trailer that will do what we needed. I am a 100% disabled VEt 70 years old and my health in not very good. We wanted to spend our days camping and traveling with our family and grandkids. Not now. FCA had lied to us and NO one is willing to help. Could you please help us?
