Engine light on, diagnostic reading: Cylinder 6 misfire detected. Random/multiple misfire detected. Number 6 cylinder has a high count of no compression. The engine light stays on stationary and in motion.
Unable to fill gas tank when pumping gas paid the dealership to diagnose the problem to have them say the part is on back order till Dec and that this seems to be a major issue. It is a major inconvenience when trying to get gas for the vehicle cause it takes so long to fill tank and need to pump it so slow or it kicks the pump off.
I was driving and the warning light came on for 50 miles until empty, it wasn't empty I just fueled up the day before, then the check engine light came on and my gas gauge went to empty....then it read fuel sensor so I topped it off, it took 8 gallons...the fuel sensor light went off but the check engine light stayed on......now the gauges don't work at all.....
I have 2 issues to report on this vehicle 1) the truck has left us stranded twice and required a ride on a roll back (who knew a little 1/2 ton pickup is too big for most tow trucks). In both cases we had stopped at a traffic light on a slight incline or decline. Then when the light turned we made a right or left turn into a decline or incline and stalled out. The first time it happened I thought it was a clogged fuel filter, but didn't think to try priming the fuel system and restarting before replacing the filter. The next time it happened approximately 1000 miles later I poured 5 gallons of diesel in, primed the fuel system and it restarted. I then filled the tank and realized that there was about 5 gallons left when it stalled. This caused me to believe that the fuel was sloshing around the pump in scenarios as described. We later realized that the fuel gauge does not drop below a 1/4 tank and no low fuel lights appear. The truck was later diagnosed as having a faulting fuel sending unit. 2) the second issue is at 51K miles we had a major def emission system failure. The first event provided 500 miles of warning before the truck would not restart. It cost $2855 to replace a fault def tank/sensor. The second time only 1000 miles later we only had 200 miles warning and cost $716 to replace a nox sensor and module. In both cases we drove the trk to a dealer, but both dealerships refused to cover it under the 96month/80,000 mile "major emission comp warranty." In May 2018 fuel sensor fail I had to come out of my pocket to replace. I brought the truck landmark Dodge in morrow ga. I only had it for a year, along with the fake warranty that turn out to be no good. I felt like they stole money from me they did not work for. Now today I had to come out of my pocket again to pay for a bad tipm with a bad fuel pump relay. I thought that if I get the truck from the dealer, it would be a few years before start having problem with it. I email Dodge support about the problem. I have not receive a email from other than they receive my complaint. Very poor customer service.
Major fuel system leak due to fuel line failure. This is the second time such a failure has occurred and is a potential fire hazard as the leak resulted in fuel running down back of engine near turbo and catalyst.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the fuel gauge became inoperable. Additionally, the headlights failed on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to nye Dodge Jeep Ram (1553 upper lenox ave, oneida, NY 13421, (315) 277-8955) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
Dpf/def systems causing engine failure. Leveling sensor inside of the D.E.F tank isn't reponding and causing truck to run bad and causing truck to go into limp mode. And there should be a recall on the dpf system
Fuel sensor failure check engine light comes and goes which causes the fuel gauge to stop working. Not under warranty but a know problem. Why has this not been addressed when it is a obvious problem.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While at the dealer (columbiana Dodge Chrysler, 100 commerce circle, columbiana, oh 44404), the contact was informed of an unknown recall for her vehicle. The dealer also informed the contact that the vehicle needed an electronic computer box sensor assembly and a fuel pump relay circuit board. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The NHTSA campaign information was not provided. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving various speeds, the fuel gauge would register empty, even with a full tank of fuel. In addition, the check engine and fuel sensor failure indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer in chantilly, Virginia where it was recommended that the fuel pump be removed for inspection. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
Check engine light came on while driving and message stated problem with fuel system sensor. Gas gauge would read empty even though there was fuel in the tank. Brought to dealer - technician verified code P0463 fuel level sensor circuit high; tested system and found faulty fuel pump module. The truck only has 32,224 miles but wasn't covered under warranty because it's over 3 years. Cost for new fuel pump module was $456 plus $347 labor ($803 total). When reviewing complaints on this year truck/model other people had the same problem with this part shortly after the warranty expired. It would seem that this should not happen with such low mileage and in my case, since the truck has been properly maintained according to the manufacturer's recommendation. Clearly there is a problem with faulty fuel pump modules in 2014 Ram 1500 trucks.
On 11/22/17 at around 5pm driving East bound on I-76 in Pennsylvania our 2014 Ram 1500 ecodiesel engine caught on fire. As I tried to stop I realized I had no brakes. We slowed to a stop as we started up a hill, I put it in park and we all got out just in time. A certified Chrysler mechanic had just 2 days earlier finished installing a new engine. Both the dealership & Chrysler have denied all ownership and no root cause evaluation has been completed. I believe a fuel line failed due to faulty workmanship, but without a third party independent investigation I guess we will never know and some other customer may experience the same thing.
I have a recurring issue with rodents chewing through the fuel line on my 2014 Ram 1500. This has happened 3 times since December, 2016 and is a very dangerous issue that Chrysler is aware of. The fuel line, according to multiple techs and representatives who have worked on my truck, has connections made of a "soy-based" product which is attractive to rodents. When the lines get chewed through, the fuel begins to leak very quickly while I have been in motion on public streets. One of the three times, my rear tires actually lost traction completely causing me to briefly lose control of my truck. The amount of fuel that leaks is significant, usually emptying my tank from nearly full to empty in seconds. I have had to have the fire department respond before the truck could be towed due to the significant fire hazard this posses. If there were to be an ignition source of any kind, the truck would catch fire and possibly cause significant harm to myself or others. I have brought this to Chrysler/Ram's attention and they have made no effort to have this issue resolved, although they acknowledged the danger involved with this problem. The reps I have dealt with explained that this fuel line is made with soy to make the part "eco-friendly". the repair is costly and, according to the repairing dealership, can only be made using the same flawed "soy-based" fuel lines. I have attached pictures showing the chewed connections as well as invoices for the three repairs I have had made. Other car companies have class action suits for soy-based wiring harnesses and fuel lines, so I do not know why this has not been recalled with the Ram trucks. I would like this issue resolved as this could be very dangerous and would only be a matter of time before someone is seriously injured from this design flaw. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Driving along at highway speeds, the "throttle control sensor" light comes on for a quick second, then goes off, and "enginge light" goes on. Withing seconds, the truck loses power, giving you little to no time to prepare and react. It has happened in L.a. on frwy with loads of traffic, it's so dangerous trying to get over to the side without being killed! it has happened 2 tiimes while in tow mode pulling trailers, again so dangerous when suddenly you have no power. Once while pulling horses in the trailer, on an up-hill, with cars behind me and no where to pull over (no shoulder). So unsafe, I was badly shaken over that one with my horses in tow. So this has happened 4 times to us, Dodge has had in shop 4 times and cannot fix. It is terrifing to be going along and have your power cut in a moments time, and be in "limp mode". we can no longer trust this truck. So dangerous

Immediately after shifting the vehicle into drive, the check engine indicator illuminated and a "fuel pump sensor failure" message appeared as the fuel gauge failed to function. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer stated that since the contact did not have an established relationship with the dealer/manufacturer, they could not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 42,800.
