This truck was purchased brand new in Sept 2014. Within the first 4000 miles of driving the brand new vehicle exhaust started to come out from under the hood and started entering the cabin, it now has 22000 miles. I told the dealership and they said to bring it in and found nothing. 10000 miles checkup I told them the same thing but its getting a lot worse so they said it was when they did an oil change and oil got onto the exhaust so they cleaned my undercarriage, but the problem would still occur. 15000 I brought it in again and they replaced my catalytic converter saying that was they issue but as soon as I got home from the dealership it started again. I have since been contacting the dealership constantly because now there is a recall pertaining to the issue I specifically have (high frequency decoupler) recall (R04). Since then they keep telling me the part is on backorder and I just have to wait for it. My truck smokes from under the hood and enters the cabin from the air vents, it gets to the point where you cant drive it without getting dizzy. North star Dodge dealership in san antonio is who I have been contacting with this issue and charles specifically from the service department. There administration has done nothing to alleviate the issue for me or accommodate me in any way. From the time I have had this issue I have contacted the fca multiple times and they tell me the dealership has it on order but can do nothing about accommodating me either. The issue of carbon monoxide poisoning is a large concern for me because I drive me grandmother around who has serious heart conditions, this issue needs to be taken care of immediately and nobody is doing anything to accommodate my safety. Please help my health is at risk and everybody how rides in my vehicle.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle position sensor needed to be updated and the emc required multiple updates. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 5,600. Updated 09/15/15 updated 10/31/2017

There is a very strong diesel exhaust smell in the cab of the truck. This is so strong my wife is unable to ride in the vehicle due to the nausea it causes her. I am concerned about the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. Everyone that has ridden in my truck, except anyone associated with the Dodge dealer I have taken it to for repair, asks what is causing the smell. The Dodge dealer says they can not smell anything. From researching this on the internet I know numerous other owners are having the same problem and concerns. Dodge seems unwilling to work with me and I would like someone to check out my concerns and see if it warrants an official recall. This is on the new 3.0L eco-diesel engine.

The 2014 Ram 1500 sport I bought has had repeated dash and interior lighting problems. The dash lights randomly flicker or don't turn on at all. On some occasions no interior lights at all would work. The truck has been back to the dealership three times but still hasn't been repaired. The dealership has done software updates, re-grounded the electrical system and replaced the body control module without fixing the problem. In addition the remote start sometimes does not start the truck it locks the doors instead, the dealership has been unable to find a solution. I feel that the dial used to select the drive gear is a potential safety hazard. The dial is a similar size and shape as the comfort and radio controls and placed right next to other dash knobs. I believe that a driver could intend to change the radio station or turn the fan down but inadvertently take the truck out of gear. Overall this truck has serious electrical flaws and the possibility of being knocked out of gear while driving. The vehicle is not safe in my opinion.

Traveling on highway feeder road at approximately 4:45 pm at approximately 30-35 mph. Prepared to come to a stop at an approaching intersection controlled by 3 way stop signs. As I began to slow down the truck stalled out. The light over the D on the gear selector was flashing and the dash panel indicated that I should shift into park and restart the vehicle. I coasted to a safe stop, applied the brake and shifted to stop and restarted the vehicle. I remained on the feeder and the truck repeated the incident at the very next intersection. I got the truck running again and pulled into a gas station and called the local Dodge dealership and talked to the service department who said they had never heard of this happening. This same incident happened three weeks ago but we thought it was a fluke. Weather was average for this time of year. Rainy and 43 degrees. Had the heater running, the seat and steering wheel heater on. Turned them all off concerned that they might be part of the cause.

Check engine light came on. That was 9/24/14. The check engine light has been through a myriad of "fixes". it is now 02/03/15 (5 1/2 months) - the check engine light is still on and the dealership has it in for "repair". the warranty requires that the vehicle not be driven when the check engine light is on, thus denying us of the regular use of the vehicle, which is critical in our cattle operation. The full nature of the complaint may be obtained by faxing or emailing a request to us.

On the afore mentioned date, I was operating vehicle on a 2 lane highway. When I attempted to pass a slower vehicle the transmission froze/locked into a lower gear, not allowing me to complete the pass of the other vehicle and there by forcing me to brake heavily to avoid a head on collision. I then returned the truck to the dealer whom I had just purchased from. As of this writing' they have neither found or corrected this issue.

I noticed that when I started my truck after it had been cold for a while that blue/white smoke would briefly come out of the tailpipe. I noticed it several times and took it to the dealership who said they couldn't find anything. It still did it intermittently. I then noticed that my oil level was low, and the oil pressure sensor went out. I had the oil pressure sensor replaced under warranty and added oil. Based on the excessive oil consumption, smoke, and oil pressure sensor going bad, I think there's something wrong with the engine. All my problems have been oil related!

While driving at a speed of approximately 25 to 30 mph, the engine stalled. This happened three times in the same day. It continues to happen at random up until the present usually when coasting or turning. The check engine light came on at 2,307 miles and codes P0171 and P0174 were found and both oxygen sensors were replaced. Three days after repair truck continues to stall. Has been in for service five times and no other repairs made because they say they can't duplicate the problem and the check engine light has not come on again. Invoice shows that there is a stored code, P0884, but since it is not active they will not be authorized or paid to repair the truck. The description of this stored code is exactly what I have been complaining that the truck does, stalls when turning or coasting at a speed of 20-30 mph. I guess money is more important than customer safety.

My 2014 Dodge Ram hemi truck is like the motor is just stalling out it looses all power and slows down. You do not have to restart the motor it will just automatically start running. The truck has done this on me several times at low speed but fri I was getting on the expressway and was moving pretty fast when it was just like the truck had stalled out it was a good thing that I still had the entrance lane to swing back in as a big truck went by. When I let off the gas peddle it was just like it had started back. It did this on me 4 more times while on my way to and from where I was going. I called the place where I bought the truck and tried to get them to let me stop by and check the truck because I was only about 5 miles away and the service man told me they were to busy that he had no one to check it out that he would have to set me up an appointment which he did for this coming Friday a week from the day this happened. When it stalled when I was getting on the expressway this really scared me when I had to swing back into the entrance lane as the tractor trailer went by. To me this was something that should have been checked immediately. I have a recall notification on the radio frequency which I told the service manager about([xxx]) an he said he didn't think this would cause my problem. Horrible odor in the cab, which caused my wife, my two teenage daughters, and myself to all have at least one form of the following, vomiting, nausea, headache, burning eyes and throat. Apparently this is a known issue to the manufacturer, as there is something called a star case. I can't drive the vehicle at this time, as I have no idea if this odor can cause a permanent health problem, not to mention it is bizarre that a brand new vehicle would have a problem like this.

Vehicle is a 4X4 Ram 1500 express with 5.7 hemi and 8-speed transmission. I purchased it new. The first incident occurred at around 200 miles on the odometer, on the third day after I purchased the vehicle. It stalled when approaching a stop sign near my home. It did not restart and run well immediately thereafter, but after 3 tries I was able to keep it running and after that it began to run smoothly for the remaining short distance to my home. I was worried that it may be a loose gas cap, so I removed the cap and re-installed it. Then less than a week later, the vehicle stalled again on 2 separate occasions during the same outing. First time was in a parking lot, and the second time was in a busy intersection. In each case, I was able to re-fire after a few attempts. The vehicle did the same thing again twice yesterday. Today the vehicle stalled again near my home. Every stall has been when slowing to stop or to make a turn. I do not feel comfortable with my family riding in a vehicle that stalls unexpectedly. It is an accident waiting to happen. I have contacted the dealer and have an appointment for a diagnostic test on this Friday. The check engine light is not illuminated, and the dealer has already indicated during a phone conversation that it will be difficult to do much if there are no obd codes to read. I have contacted other dealers to inquire if other customers may be having a similar situation. None have heard of this issue in this model year.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that there was hesitation when changing gears from park to reverse or drive. The contact had to change multiple gears to get the transmission to switch over from park to drive or reverse. The reverse sensor and the drive sensor light illuminated sporadically. The contact was able to use the gear shifter knob to ensure that the vehicle was in the correct gear. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be repaired but the part needed to make the repair was on back order. The vehicle was to be inspected and repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2100. Updated 06/10/14 updated 06/11/2014

On or about March 6 2014 when the truck sits over night or after about 5 hours when the motor and trans are cold, I notice a hesitation going from reverse to forward, this is a hesitation that is about 2-5 seconds, it seems that the motor is not getting enough air it seems like it wants to idle down. When this idle down it goes from the hesitation then like a idle air issue. With the hesitation from a low idle to idle that makes it go then I have to give this gas or try to since its a lot of electrical know. I am not sure. I live on a busy road and this is a issue that can affect my safety. I should not have to worry if it will go into drive. At this time this is a issue, I want to know when I put this into drive, it goes like it should this is a brand new truck.
