I was driving in the mountains pulling a boat on a fishing trip. Coming off the last pass into gunnison Colorado, I heard knocking heard a big bang. The truck shut down for loss of oil pressure. Couldn't start it, couldn't get it into natural. Got it to a diesel shop figured it spun a rod bearing. I did not know that when a viehical comes down from Canada, it loses its drivetrain warranty! we are all North american! what exactly is both of these problems?

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving 35 mph, the contact heard a loud knocking sound underneath the vehicle. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road, inspected the vehicle, but did not find a failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the bolts to the manifold were detached on both sides and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was later taken to 1-10 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (located at 79200 verner rd, indio, ca 92203, (760) 345-1000). The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was not under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. No further assistance was offered and the contact was referred to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 119,833. Consumer stated I had computer components (recalled) replaced due to the shifter coming out of gear. I feel that caused transmission damage which I had notified 1-10 Chrysler Dodge about. Nothing has been done about the transmission at this time. I had the manifold and the bots replaced.

I have a 2014 Ram 1500 slt 4WD cc I bought it about 6 months ago. About a week ago my friend and I were about to take a drive and when I started it my friend whom is a mechanic said you either have an engine knock or an exhaust leek. Well I checked it out at the dealer and well the exhaust leak was due to a broken bolt in the manifold and then the dealer calls me and says you have a lifter taping they said the extended warranty would fix it but I have seen a couple of videos and forums and this really needs to be a recall on both im not the only one whom has had this problem I love my truck but if you spend the kind of money that we Ram owners have this problem should be covered ive been treated wonderful by the dealer but this is something that needs to be recodnised by Chrysler and fixed by Chrysler ive only put 20000 miles on it it only has 82000 total this should not be a problem yet if at all I treat my truck like a part of the family it gets serviced regularly my truck should not be having these kind of issues please help do something about these problems someone needs

It has an exhaust leak in the manifold due to faulty bolts. I have researched it and talked to mechanics, and it is a well document problem with Dodge/Ram vehicles. I have learned that it used to be covered under some warranties, but not all. It is obviously a vehicle defect that Dodge/Ram should be responsible for fixing.

I started getting a ticking in my motor around 60K miles. I took it to tyler's Chrysler Jeep and Ram in niles Michigan for two recalls, the ticking sound on the drivers side, and a possible rear main seal leaking. The service writer told me they put dye in the oil and I had to bring it back and recommended I replace the spark plugs for the ticking but did put in my file why he was recommending it. I took my truck to my normal mechanic for the ticking sound again and ne says I have broken exhaust studs. Now I am 2 months outside of my warranty and the dealership won't cover it under warranty because the service writer couldn't do his job. In do research on this issue, apparently broken exhaust manifold studs are so common on these trucks that replacing them is considered standard maintanance"?"

. my pick-up averaged 24 per gallon between local and expressway driving. Expressway driving only (for example, to niagara falls in 2015) averaged 27 miles per gallon. Following replacement of spark plugs and oil change and 2 factory recalls my pick-up lost power and could barely do 20 miles per gallon. The engine became very loud. The longer I drove it, the less mileage I got -- the engine also began howling/whistling as I tried to increase speed. In order to maintain speed, I had to constantly press my foot to excelerate, even going down inclines. I had to continuously bring my pick-up back to the dealership in St. Charles, Illinois because various systems began to fail -- safety breaks, fuel related black box, dashboard panel signals, etc. I expressed concern about the stress on my transmission and engine. Eventually, by process of elimimation, service department revisited the 2 recalls -- one of which was the cruise control recall. When I brought it in again, they found 6 leaks located on the top of the engine. Anything above 50-55 mph is difficult. I feel that the transmission does not change gears in a timely fashion, and sometimes not at all. The RPM is very high and the engine remains in exceration mode either too long or, at higher speeds, never kicks

My wife and I were on a long road trip with our infant during christmas. All aspects of my truck were operational and no warning signs. My truck is an ecodiesel. On the way home the temps were below freezing and it began to rain. We tried to turn the heat on in the truck to find there was no heat. The truck was running at normal operating temperature with no signs of overheating. We kept driving until I could safely exit the highway. We fueled up and I checked the truck over visually but found no reason for the truck to have no heat and still be operating under normal temperatures. We returned to driving and had heat for a brief moment before it stopped working again. Still the truck was operating at normal temperature. When I finally decided to check the antifreeze level, I learned that the truck was very low and did not have enough to fill the heater core, but just enough to keep the truck from overheating. I added antifreeze and continued to drive the truck for a couple of weeks and could not determine where the leak was. Finally, after reading several others having the same issue, I discovered a hidden leak in the egr cooler that was essentially leaking and burning off immediately leaving no trace behind of the leak. It eventually got bad enough that it would leave coolant puddles under the truck. Even with the pool of coolant under the truck, there is no visible evidence of the leak except for minor dampness around one port of the egr cooler.

The hemi engine has a known issue from 2009 5.7 hemi up until present but Ram is not recalling the engine. The lifters are seizing causing the engine to fail. This could be dangerous. These are failing before 70K miles and mine is starting to fail as well. Its a 4000 dollar fix when they do. Dodge Ram needs to recall this issue. I purchased my truck for $26000 and have only had it for less than 2 years.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving various speeds, the contact smelled fumes inside the vehicle and the engine failed. In addition, the traction control warning indicator illuminated. Jacksonville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram arlington (9600 atlantic blvd, jacksonville, fl 32225, (877) 677-5782) repaired the turbo charger. Galeana Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (14375 S tamiami trail, fort myers, fl 33912, (239) 481-2600) flushed the engine and stated that the wire harness was not connected properly and was to close to the oil pan, which caused the vehicle engine to fail. The failures continued after the repairs. The dealer had not released the contact's vehicle. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 88,000.

Oil leak originating from reported failed filter housing adapter (per dealer investigation) on pentastar 3.6L V6 engine. Slow leak began to occur immediately after previous dealer-performed oil change in late 2018. 2/4/19 regular-interval dealer-performed oil change found oil all over both sides of engine. Technician advised of replacing oil filter housing/oil cooler adapter and associated gaskets for quote of $995. Leak observed on personal garage floor, as well as along driveway (while in motion), since prior oil change. Multiple internet searches find faults of this equipment across a wide variance of 2014 3.6L pentastar V6 engines installed in various Fiat-Chrysler America models.

I had a water pump failure, called the dealership and they told me it was under warranty. A flatbed truck came to pick it up. After three weeks in the dealer they called me it was ready for pick up. I went there, inspected the work all was done correctly. When I went to pick up my keys, they told me that Dodge does not include the "liquids" and that I had to pay for the coolant used, $29.98 they charged me. I went to talk to the manager and asked him and he said that Dodge does not cover for any liquids, if you make an engine repair under warranty, customer pays for the oil and filter, if a repair is done on the axle, customer had to pay for the axle fluid, it is incredible!! GM includes everything. My truck is a 2014, but only has 30K miles on it, first this is not suppose to happen at this low millage, and second if the dealer is going to do the job, after having the truck sitting in their yard for three weeks, the least you could do is include the coolant. Don't you think. How does the government allows this? there should be a law protecting the customer from this kind of rip offs. Almost thirty dollar for coolant it is outrageous.
