ABS control module failed, is widespread problem in this generation vehicle and there is no available part for repair so my truck has no functioning ABS, this also disabled traction control creating an unsafe vehicle to drive. I was told by the dealership that I drove to since i couldn't get an answer by phone that they have not had the part for 2 yrs and expect to not have any supply anytime soon. I sent a msg to Stellantis that went unanswered and tried 3 seperate dealerships by phone but could not even get them to answer the phone.

I have a fault in the ABS Control Module. I have been waiting on a replacement part since September of 2023. The current part number for repair has been discontinued and it sounds like the ABS Control Module is under engineering review. When the fault is thrown it turns of traction control and does not allow the use of 4 wheel drive. I have serious safety concerns when driving my vehicle when the abs fault is thrown. If the part has been discontinued and it is under engineering review how has it not been recalled.

A few months ago my truck displayed ABS, Traction Control and Emergency Brake lights all at once, as well as taking away my cruise control. It is incredibly difficult to keep control of the vehicle in rainy/wet conditions. No accident has happened fortunately but the other day my father had the same exact lights pop up in his truck with the same traction control issues in his 2015 RAM 1500. So today I went to a shop to get it checked out only to find out that the ABS module is bad and apparently it is an issue nationwide. There's a recall coming for younger models but none of the older models? This is a huge issue and the average consumer does not have $2,000 tucked away to get this issue resolved swiftly. ABS is crucial to maintaining safe highways during bad weather conditions and if Chrysler is not held accountable for installing faulty ABS modules then they will continue to release unsafe products and force consumers to spend thousands of dollars on a product that should not have been a problem on a 10 year old vehicle with only 100,000 miles.

My 2014 Ram 1500 Sport, Crew Cab, 2x4, 5.7 Hemi engine, was showing on and off ABS, Traction Control, and Trailer Maintenance warning lights on the dash around the Aug. 5, 2024. It got to the point over the last few weeks that the warning lights now stay on. I had Napa auto service run a diagnostic check and it showed Code: C220-049 ABS Control Module Internal Electrical Failure. I contacted local and online Mopar Dealers and Parts department for a new ABS Control Module. I was told Mopar doesn't have a replacement part in stock. Some sites say that Mopar Part# 68228991AD is discontinued. One online Mopar Part Suppler said, that the Part has been on back order for a very long time with no real availability date. Another website, reported that the ABS Control Module failure has been an issues for over 2 years. Mopar has yet to figure out a functioning replacement or fix for the ABS Control Module failures. I am concerned as this part has disabled the ABS system, stability control, and the trailer towing electrical brake controller. I can not tow my travel trailer safely. I'm very cautious driving due to the lack of anti lock brakes and the stability control not working. This is a safety concern, and I would think Mopar would have fixed the issues and the supply system shortage for ABS Control Module.

Beginning around March 2024: 1) The ABS, Towing, and E-brake dashboard lights stay on; and the Cruise Control stopped working. 2) The brakes and/or transmission locked up when I put the truck in Reverse. It made a noise like it was trying to respond but sort of dropped and locked up and would not move. This has happed a few times intermittently so mechanics have not been able to reproduce the problem. 3) The brakes grabbed to the left, brakes went soft, then I had to push harder. This has happened a few times. 4) My truck is large and heavy so it could really do some damage to other cars and endanger lives. I don-??t drive it much for this reason causing me a lot of inconvenience. 5) The dealership and 2 local car repair shops scanned the problem. A lot of codes popped up - including the ABS Module and tire sensors. They said the module was unavailable and under review. They also said tracking down all the causes and completely resolving them would be trial and error as they replaced several parts including the ABS Module and sensors on all 4 tires. I cannot locate the repair shop receipts at present, but 1 shop (Decatur Auto Tech) was $258 on 3/19/2024. Landmark Dodge didn-??t charge for the scan on 4/23/2024. They gave me a quote to replace the ABS Module of $1,294.71

I have been searching for a replacement ABS Control Module for my Ram truck for over a year to ensure the safety of my vehicle while stopping on the road. Stellantis has not provided their customers with safety replacement parts for their vehicles to keep them safe to drive on the roads. This puts me and others on the road at risk. My vehicle is available for inspection. This condition has been confirmed by multiple dealers and service centers. My truck's ABS warning lamps and messages have been present for over a year. To date I have found no supplier of replacement ABS modules for my 2014 Ram truck.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while the vehicle was running, the ABS, check Trailer Brake System, Engine, Brake, Service Electronic Brake, and Service ABS warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the cruise control feature did not work as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.

Check Engine light came on in Jan, 24. Had it checked and was told ABS modules need to be replaced. Ordered and paid for on Jan 17,24. Then each month I have been told that they are on back order. It is now July and my registration is due but I can not get my sticker until I pass the smog check. But I can not pass the smog check with the check engine light on. I have to pay the registration fee ($295)or I will have to pay a penalty. I have contacted dealer, Mopar, Stellantis and no one seems to know when modules will be ready! Will I have to rent a vehicle soon? I don't know if my 2014 RAM will soon become obsolete if I can't get the parts to make it safe!

My ABS light has been on and when I took my vehicle to the dealership, they said it requires a part that is on back order for almost a year already. My vehicle suddenly comes out of drive while I-??m on the road. It-??s scary because one minute I-??m going 50 miles an hour and then it just turns off. Other times the car does not register my foot on the break when trying to get it out of park to start it. The Dodge dealership says all of these things are related to a bad ABS module which I have been waiting for since December, and they have no idea when the part will be available. I have been on mini Dutch forums and I see that this is an issue across the country

Codes c2209-49, c2200-47, u0121, u11bc, u1110, u1412. ABS, traction control, brake and CEL iluminated. No speedometer and no power steering. Codes will not clear. All wheelspeed sensors are operational per scantool in live data mode. Issue not confermed by dealer or independant as the cost is outrageous. And i cannot find a recall to repair issue. These issues i have had since March 2024. Cost for me to repair would be approximately $1200. Safety systems like these should not need a recall they-??ve had years to resolve issues with ABS problems. I-??m hoping that Mopar sees these issues with other people and has a recall on the problem. My wife won-??t even drive the truck.

In January 2023, my 2014 Ram 1500 sport truck got an anti-lock, braking system and Brake light flashing warning ABS lights. I went to the dealer and he said my ABS electronic module was bad and that it was problem with most Ram trucks. I asked when could I get a new module and he said June of 2024. So I went in June and no module. So here I am, driving an unsafe vehicle, and waiting for a part which may never come in. Thanks for listening because this is really a safety issue

I own a 2014 Ram 1500. The ABS module stopped working in it sometime in 2021. The new part was on backorder with no estimated delivery date. At the time I put a used ABS module in it and it lasted about a year before it went out again. This is a known problem that Ram is having with their ABS systems on several different models. The ABS module part # 68228991AC has since been discontinued by Ram. I also own a 2018 2500 Ram that had the same issue. From what I have read online the NHSTA is investigating that year and model truck and a class action lawsuit has been filed out of California. The NHSTA needs to broaden their investigation into other years makes and models of Ram trucks. It is unfair that Ram is placing their customers lives in jeopardy instead of doing the right thing and recalling these defective vehicles.

Despite numerous attempts to resolve the matter, I've faced obstacles and a lack of clarity from Dodge Corporation. Recently, my 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie experienced a sudden ABS light issue, affecting traction and cruise control. This has made driving perilous in Texas's hazardous conditions. We've been quoted $2000 (part itself is $1300) for repairs, but the required part is on backorder, with no ETA provided by Dodge Corporate. This situation poses a significant safety risk to my family, yet we're unable to proceed due to part unavailability and a lack of transparency. I request urgent assistance or guidance on resolving this matter. Question #1- The ABS module in the 2014 Ram 1500 Laramie has failed, affecting the ABS system, traction control, and cruise control. The specific part number is 68228991AD. The failed component, the ABS module, should be available for inspection upon request. Question #2- The failure of the ABS module has compromised the functionality of the ABS system, which is crucial for maintaining stability and control on slippery roads, especially in hazardous conditions. This puts the safety of the driver, passengers, and others on the road at risk, particularly in situations where ABS is necessary to prevent accidents. Question #3- Yes, the problem has been confirmed by a mechanic, and the necessary repairs have been identified. The mechanic determined that the issue lies with the ABS module. Question #4- The vehicle and the ABS component have been inspected by a mechanic, revealing that the issue lies with the ABS module. However, neither the police nor insurance representatives have inspected the vehicle in relation to this matter. Question #5- Yes, the ABS light on the dashboard appeared as a warning sign of the problem with the ABS system. This occurred suddenly and without prior indication of an issue until the warning light illuminated.

I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500. I share the same problem as thousands of other Ram owners who have a faulty ABS module in their trucks. They are not under recall, Ram/Dodge/Stellantis could not be bothered to dig further into the problem. They have discontinued the part (68228991AD) and similar cross reference part numbers. My ABS doesn't engage and when someone uses an unsafe driving maneuver in the middle of the interstate and I have to slam the brakes, my truck goes into "limp" mode and the ABS doesn't function properly. Someone is going to die if Stellantis doesn't address the issue from their faulty parts. I called several dealerships who say they don't have the part, and that they do not expect to get anymore due to discontinuation of the part. After doing some research online, it appears that thousand of vehicles with that part from 2014-2016 are affected. Please help us take action and hold the auto brand accountable for negligent handling of a manufacturer issue not replacing or providing solution for parts that are critical to driver's safety. Respectfully, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
