I just bought the truck and I can say I LOVE IT! But... Here's the issue. And it's the only issue but it's uncalled for. I bough the truck used and it is in the best shape I have ever seen a truck! I mean I have literally not been able to find a scratch or spec of sand anywhere! It's like it was bought new, parked on a treadmill in a garage and turned on until 64k miles were on it. So it's clean and not abused...
On to the issue. It's a $60,000 +++ truck! I mean it's loaded and now there's this light issue. The previous owner said it's been that way since around 20k miles and he just forgot to go fix it. So sad right, while under warranty. But it is the interior dome/reading/map light for the driver and passenger front seats. They are so bright for about 2 seconds then go so dim they might as well not be on. There's no solution. No fuses. No lose wires. No lose light. No blown lights. It's a malfunction that sucks. It's the only flaw I see but it's as big as can be because you literally might as well have no light at all up front. So when you stop and want to get something, write something, read, etc... It's not happening with these lights. My truck is not the only one at all either. There are countless complaints that are just like mine. Identical! And they're all over forums. So far everyone says they cannot find a fix and when took to a dealer the dealer has to replace the entire console assembly that goes in the roof. In other words the garage door opener, lighting, etc. And what is even worse is everyone who wrote problem solved came back several months later with the same issue. Eventually warranty runs out (like mine) and it's $350 to fix in parts alone!! Completely uncalled for.
So be aware if you get this truck (not mine I'll never hand it over!) you will fall in love... but you will not have lights. It's the only problem though. So as far as being flawless... so far with 65k miles, it is 95% flawless. But this needs to be fixed. I mean literally it's a light guys (Chrylser)! Something that is costing you pennies!! And you know it! Fix the lights and take pride in your name. My respect for you would go sky high to see a recall issued to fix this when you know that it will cost you next to nothing! I know business, I know politics and I know money. So yeah there's cost but over a cheap or at the least a malfunctioning light... we work hard as people to make enough dough to buy this $60,000 hunk of metal. Back us up with a little courtesy and fix this. I am not the only one. READ THE FORUMS! And please don't tell me "well forums are full of people that abuse things..." You're right. But it's hard to abuse a light!
