P0302, misfire on cylinder 2 at 149,000 miles, changed plugs, coil pack and fuel injector without resolving the issue. After dropping it off at dealership, I get the call this morning that it is cam and lifter wear that is causing one of the #2 valves not to fully open. Cost to repair $3700.00.

For a cam and lifter to be made in such a cheap manner as to wear out before/by 150,000 miles is a pitiful testament to the poor quality and lack of pride that Fiat Chrysler has in what it builds.

This may be the last Dodge I own!

Had to rent another truck to go to job out of town, Dodge told me a lot of 5.7 engine are starting to show up with worn cams and lifters, Dodge has not recalled any

While driving home, on the highway, I had to quickly accelerate to avoid some idiots on the road. As i get on the throttle and she opens up I saw that my check engine light began to flash, maybe 3 pulses. I got off the throttle and the light goes solid and "bling". I am now cruising at about 70mph and she is sputtering and vibrating. I get off at my exit, vibrating like crazy. As i wait at the light she just stops vibrating and back to a normal idle. Light turns green and I'm off. She begins to sputter and vibrate all the way to the dealership. They put the scanner in and i have a cylinder #3 misfire. I looked online and saw someone say that it could be a cracked valve spring. I don't know what it is yet i am still awaiting for the dealership diagnostics.

Update from Apr 10, 2016: It seems that the misfire was caused do to CAM and LIFTER failure. Dealership replaced the cam and 8 lifters. When i asked what was wrong with the cam and lifters they simply said that they just replaced what was making noise. Furthermore, I asked why only 8 lifters and not all of them they replied that under the warranty they are only allowed to replace what was damaged.

Ridiculous!! ....I know you said to be specific about the problem, but I must go into the things I fixed myself already on a vehicle that stickered for over 50k. I had to glue the plastic wheel fairings back myself, poor quality. I

had to fix several squeaks in the interior of the car including one that required removing the shifter console.

Now lets get to that annoying engine noise that starts above 50 mph. the engine makes a loud growling/ howling noise between 1400 & 2000 r.p.m. at cruising speeds. Mainly when the engine shuts down to 4 cyl/ eco mode.

This is driving me absolutely nuts! I refuse to take it to the dealer because all they do is give you the run around and tell you " we couldn't find anything wrong with it " not to mention who has time anymore to run back and forth

to a dealer with all these problems. This is why we buy new vehicles, so that our lives are not spent repairing them and dealing with issues that you would expect on a 10 year old vehicle. So sad to say, I will never ever buy this So called patriotic American crap again... you can keep it!! I'm sure that a 2014 Toyota will be in my driveway this time next year. Just a note, I drove a Mazda Speed for 4 years and 50,000 miles on it before trading it in on this big pile of &%^. I sure miss that car now..... it was never ever at the dealer for any warranty issues other than standard maintenance. Oh yeah, one more note...the brakes blow on this Ram as well, make sure you leave yourself plenty of stopping distance or you find yourself nose diving into back of an obstacle.

I just want to cry right now, not because I don't have options to get rid of it, but because I bought into this Buy American Obama supported government owned crap vehicle. This vehicle has shown me that the Chrysler division is not much better then when they were building the k cars in the 80's Junk... so long!!!!
