I bought my 2012 Ram truck ( used ) from a Dodge dealer in Florida, in late April 2013 / with about 21000 miles on it . Not even 3 months later, In early July 2013 is when I had my first problem with it .
The engine light came on, then immediately following, the electronic throttle control sensor light also came on, and then I realized I had no throttle. So, I coasted into a parking lot , and turn the truck off. When I turn the truck back on, the electronic control sensor light had reset itself ( eng light was still on ) and I had throttle back . So I went straight to the dealer to get it checked. They checked it out with their diagnostic computer, and said it need a new electronic throttle control sensor , so they ordered one and put it in. They took it for a 6 mile test drive and said I was all set and good to go. So I left and headed home. Before I even got home, it happened again , both eng light and electronic control sensor lights came back on and I had NO throttle. So, back to the dealer I go . They hook it back up to the diagnostic computer, now it tells them it needs a new main computer, so they put one in, take it for a test drive, DOESN'T fix the problem , they put a 2nd main computer in, DOESN'T fix the problem, they put a 3rd new main computer in , FINALLY it fixes the problem.
BUT, 10 months later ( about a week ago ) it all starts AGAIN. So I bring the truck back to the dealer. They start with replacing the electronic throttle control sensor AGAIN , DOESN'T fix it, they replaced the main computer AGAIN, DOESN'T fix it, then they just try for the heck of it to replaced the throttle pedal , and it doesn't fix it either.
So now, they tell me they are gonna have to get a hold of the engineers at Chrysler corporate in Detroit, to see what they need to do next. So as of now, they have NO IDEA what is wrong with my truck . So 4 main computers,2 electronic control sensors and 1 accelerator pedal later, my truck is STILL in the shop without a CLUE what is wrong with it.
