It appears that the fuel pump relay is failing in my 2012 Ram 1500. The part is on a minimum of a 3 week backorder. No coincidence that there is a recall for the Durango and Grand Cherokee for the same engine for the same years; however, no recall for my Ram! Chrysler recall customer service was very nice and agreed that it probably isn't a coincidence and they logged the issue. So, now we order the part, hope that it doesn't burn out my fuel pump, while we wait 3+ weeks for the part. Oh, and it intermittently won't start, either...hopefully, it continues to start while we wait!

I noticed my truck not wanting to start in the mornings. I noticed there was no noise from the fuel pump like when you turn the key to the on position. So the temporary fix was to change the key positions repeatedly until I heard the fuel pump turn on, sometimes would take 15 minutes. Eventually it evolved into not wanting to start at all. It got so bad I finally pulled the fuses and jumped the fuse from the cigarette lighter. It definitely is not the fuel pump because jumping the fuse solved the problem. Im beyond frustrated that a little 15 dollar part buried inside a stupid TIPM is the culprit, but its a $700 dollar part now. The temporary fix still works a year later, but I don't trust taking my truck anywhere beyond local. Other than that frustrating issue, the truck is absolutely solid and I would buy another one as long as I knew for sure they stopped making these stupid TIPMs. I read on these forums that I'm not the only one with this problem, and some people have it way worse.

I have recently came across one of the most unusual things after years of working on my own vehicles. A faulty tipm relay pump fuse, not fuse but the circuit board part for the fuel pump and I can't fix it. It's out of the extended warranty and from what I can tell out of Dodge crap deal they offered. It left my wife stranded on the road. Left my machine telling me it was the fuel pump and searching on why it went out that way. YouTube helped explain it and it is the issue but I can't afford to fix and can't afford no job. I'm at a loss with a used before that I can't take back and owe money to where I can't afford anything else and can't ruin my credit.

Dodge needs to help the customers with their products and quality. No wonder I always owned Chevy!!!

The fuel pump stayed on and drained the battery. I had to purchase a new battery and the fuel pump drained that one also. I need this fixed. this is my first dodge and it might be my last one

Door locks have achieved total awareness. They lock and unlock on their own, mostly when the truck is setting and when you close the back doors or open the front doors.

The truck was fine one minute and then possessed the next. When I turned on the hi beams, all the dash light cut in and out, all the warning lights lit up, and the door ajar/lights on warning bells went off. I dimmed the headlights and it stopped. The dealer first said the alternator was bad, and it was only charging at 12 volts, so they replaced it, but that didn't solve the problem. Then they said it was the TIPM. 17 days and $1351 later, I have my truck back.
