The transfer case was replaced in June 2019 at 18,000 miles. The car was out of warranty and I paid for repair. In late 2020 Porsche acknowledged they have major problem with transfer cases on Macans and extended the warranty to 7 years. I was reimbursed for the repair in March 2021. In August 2021 my Porsche dealer informed me the transfer case needs to be replaced for the 2nd time. The original replacement was supposed to be improved part yet it failed in just over 2 years and 9000 miles. Porsche refuses to cover the cost of repair because it is out of their extended warranty. Spent weeks trying to contact Porsche and work with their customer service - that's a whole other frustrating experience/complaint. IMO Porsche should be recalling this faulty part.
