I purchased Cayenne Diesel from TECHART Main distributor in Liverpool and the car was registered to me on 1/3/2014. The car had 20 miles on the clock upon delivery where I then took the car to Northern part of Cyprus. On August 24th a friend took the car for a test drive as the car was never driven on public roads with his wife and three children. He only covered 50 miles when the car's engine stopped as he was travelling with a convoy of three cars. He veered to the side and noticed smoke coming out of bonnet. His wife started screaming in panic. The driver's concern was to get the children out. The rear O/S doors couldn't open. He heroically got all the children out. A huge Fireball engulfed the engine bay of the car. Fortunately the car behind managed to take graphic pictures of the event.
Fire brigade was immediately called and not being far away they quickly extinguish the fire out.
The family of two adults and three children almost perished in that car and the whole family had to seek psychological counselling for the ordeal they suffered. Who knows as to whether they will ever recover from the trauma they suffered. The children are having reoccurring nightmares from this event.
TECHART dealership was immediately informed in writing and by phone. I was advised to take the car to Porsche dealership in South Cyprus. The car remained at Porsche dealership for exactly two months. Techart blamed Porsche, Porsche blamed Techart. The car was inspected by either parties concerned by their forensic teams to determine the cause of fire. I insisted this should be done because I had the Fire Brigade's forensic report in my hand that it was an electrical fault that caused the fire. An obvious manufacturing fault that may render a recall..
I contacted Porsche Customer Services in UK directly myself and spoke with Clare Bayer who alleged that I should take up my case with Techart. The so called Porsche Assistance program was not evident and was non Existent. I had to get the car out on a trailer at my expense away from the Porsche dealership after two months.
Considerable exchange of emails ensued with Techart and Porsche where neither accepted any responsibility or any liability whatsoever. Neither offered any solution and simply washed their hands. I found myself with disbelief from such a brand. I would had a better service from Lada Cars.
I now intend to bring the car on an open trailer and parade it in London Streets for all to see the suffering I had to endure.
I have now engaged solicitors to pursue my case not only for fraudulently being deceived under Sale of Goods Act and also under Trade description Act. Criminal actions may also follow suit against the directors of both TECHART and PORSCHE companies.
I was threatened by both TECHART and PORSCHE that they will take legal action against me if I depict any of these pictures on news media. I now want to challenge both companies to come along and do just that. I have suffered Insult to Injury and I will fight to obtain my losses and substantial compensation claim against both companies concurrently.
