The connector on the back of the headlight gets loose and the signal and headlights only work sometimes. I wedged a piece of plastic in the connector on the tray to make it tighter and it took care of the problem for a while. However, when the temperature drops below zero, the thing stops working. To fix it, you either have to get a new tray, a new headlight, or you can cut out the connector on the tray plug it into the back of the headlight directly. The harness isn't long enough to do this comfortably, obviously, so it's a lot of fun.
I've owned a number of 911s which use the same idea for headlight assemblies and I've never had this issue with them. Again, great job, idiots at VW.
