In keeping with EVERY service required for my Porsche, you would think I shouldn't have many "expensive" repairs. However, the drivetrain was just the icing-on-the-cake. After getting my car back from Porsche of Arlington for an approx $1200 service, one week later, it was back at the dealer because the drivetrain broke. To be exact, the center bearing piece only. However, because of the way Porsche made their Cayenne's, I was informed that they cannot replace just the broken piece, which is the center bearing which costs much less, they would have to replace the entire drivetrain which now cost over $2400! Before I left with my broken drivetrain, I made sure Porsche knew how absurd it is to carry a name like "Porsche", charge an arm and a leg for your vehicles, AND claim your Mission Statement on the Porsche Company website, only to build your vehicles with cheap parts! I told them that my 1998 Mits Mirage and my draughts 1992 Honda Accord's drivetrain/shaft NEVER broke, cracked, or split and I paid way less for those two cars!! Help me understand that please?!! They could not. Hmmmmm.......
In closing, I have kept every repair receipt from my Porsche and pretty much all costs for repairs have been over $1000. I will list them as separate issues on my account as stated in the introduction. I wrote Porsche and almost every executive within the Porsche company to no avail. Well, one exec did respond by sending me a beautifully packaged catalog book of the new 2015 Porsche Cayenne.
