My beloved 2004 Pontiac Vibe suffered a significant amount of external body damage in 2013-after a large tree fell on it during hurricane force winds/rainstorm. More than 6months later, car began to leak, at first,small amount of water, on passenger side, near side "post"that supports front windshield.Windshield had been replaced after hurricane-so I assumed it had been installed incorrectly.After nearly 6 tubes of silicone sealant-completely surrounding front windshield, still experienced BUCKETS of water coming inside car,soaking front passenger seat and floor with even small precipitation(even had mold develop on floor mats, towels soaked w/water trying to prevent seats getting wet).Spent 3 YEARS,with bucket propped under area,trying desperately to stop leak.FINALLY found the most kind,understanding and GENIOUS small town mechanic-who advised me that my issue had nothing to do with windshield-but with a small flexible tube that drained water from the sunroof(when working properly!).Mechanic literally picked up "air pressssure"blower-and in less than 10minutes, "blew out" a ton of debris that had accumulated in area surrounding sunroof-THE KEY HOT SPOT-and where a very thin,small tube exists, that allows water from outside car,to drain through tube,inside body of car,down through interior steel side c=braces(that hold windshield in place),and drains underneath vehicle.Mechanic used NO PARTS, simply cleared "dirt" and gunk out...and afterward...told me-NO CHARGE,MERRY CHRISTMAS! Have since noted dozens of similar complaints for various years of Pontiac Vibes-reader should note,tube may deteriorate and can split,causing small holes/splits-requiring tube replacement, however, more often than not, requires only simple cleaning.See numerous videos on YOUTUBE for "How to stop water leaking into Pontiac Vibe by cleaning sunroof duct tube". So nice to find a kind hearted and intelligent mechanic, who could have charged me mega bucks, but didn't...a real blessing! Good luck! (AND FYI-THIS IS ALSO AN ISSUE FOR VIBE/MATRIX VEHICLES OF OTHER YEARS...2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 etc.)
