The problem started with the daytime running light instrument light flashing. The manual says it may be a headlamp problem. I changed both headlight bulbs and the problem appeared to be fixed. One week later it happened again. On further examination I found that the passenger side running light wasn't nearly as bright as the drivers side. I took it to my mechanic and he found what he thought was the problem. He checked the light bulb harness and pulled on the wires and they went out. He also slammed the hood of the car and the headlights came back on as they should and couldn't get them to go back out. He suspected a wiring problem and changed the harness and cleaned up a few more wiring connections near the battery that looked suspect. He thought that was the end of the problem. The next day it was back again. The headlight on the passenger side didn't work and the daytime running light was dimmer than the drivers side.

The next thing we tried was to replace the headlight bulb on the passenger side again and it seems to work fine again now. Spoke with the mechanic to see if the wiring harness he replaced could have caused the problem with the bulb and therefore now that the bulb has been replaced again, perhaps the problem would be fixed.

I am afraid that it is only a temporary fix that's the same as before. Note that we also tried replacing the daytime running light relay in the fuse panel but it didn't make any difference.

The daytime running lights come on and then fade out. It is also affecting the high beam on the passengers side of the car. Any ideas or similar complaints.
