THIS SHOULD BE REPAIRED UNDER A RECALL! IT'S DANGEROUS!

Owning a large number of cars, this problem has happened twice. Both to GM cars. The other was a Buick and I ran out of gas on the interstate south of Pittsburg!

The dealer heard an earful but refused to fix it. Needless to say I no longer deal there.

I used Google to find out why my gas gauge was always on full and apparently there are MANY people with the same problem. And not just my model year - as far as I can tell it goes from 1999 to 2004. I ran out of gas 40 kilometers from the nearest gas station because of this problem. Pontiac should issue a recall on this to prevent worse situations.

What really pisses me off is that I went to a dealer and he said you could buy a replacement fuel sending unit for "just" $300. A second dealer said you need to buy a whole new fuel pump because the sending unit is part of the pump - you can't buy them separately. Clearly there is deception on the part of Pontiac.

I own two Pontiacs currently (03 Montana and 04 Sunfire) and I'm not going to be anal and say I'll never buy another Pontiac, but for the love of God do something about this problem. RECALL IT NOW!!!
