A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I OWN A 2006 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE LOW BEAMS BOTH GO OFF AT THE SAME TIME. SO I TURN ON THE HIGH BEAMS. AT THIS POINT I HAVE REPLACED THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH (HEADLIGHT SWITCH) AND IT DID NOT FIX IT. NEXT I AM GOING TO CHANGE THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP FUSE AND RELAY. AFTER THAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO TEST THE BODY CONTROL MODULE. FOR VOLTAGE GOING TO THE LOW BEAM RELAY. IF THE VOLTAGE IS NOT CORRECT I AM TOLD THAT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE IS AT FAULT. I WILL LET YA KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

GM won't fix it because my 11 year old car has 157,000 miles on it. GM knows the part is bad, and should replace because of the safety hazard. I live in rural Northern California and it was scary having the lights go out suddenly. No lights on a DARK country mountain road is dangerous. I guess not enough drivers have driven off a cliff or ran over someone to justify as a extended warranty service, NOT A SAFETY RECALL. GM YOU ARE IDIOTS. IF YOU SELL AN AUTOMOBILE IT SHOULD BE SAFE, OR IF NOT MAKE IT SAFE.. Ruined my day, cost me money, just to find out I have to pay for your mistakes. Not happy, not happy at all. How do you people sleep at night GEEZ!

Grand Prix 3800 Series 3 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,154 miles

Both low beam headlights went out at the same time. One minute they were working. Then when I started my car again, they wouldn't come on. I didn't think it was the bulbs, because that was highly unusual. But I changed them out anyway. AND IT'S NOT THE BULBS!!!! I read this very same complaint, the very same words about the 2006 Grand Prix. Any HELP WILL BE WONDERFUL!!!!

Grand Prix GXL 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

Low beam headlights will shut off randomly and won't come back on even if you try to turn on manually. The high beams and fog lamps will work, but not the low beams. I have checked fuses, relays, grounds. ultimitly it all comes down to the VBCM or replace the wiring harness. What a bitch!! I have already replaced the head light switch on steering column per my mechanic just trying to switch things out without actually checking the freakin problem, heaven for bid he do his job!!!!!!!!!!
