I spoke with a woman over recalls in us. She said my car wasn't part of recall concerning oil dripping on engine block causing fire hazard I've discovered why. General manager jamie cobb has gotten involved and lied as well. I was taking off from a stop light sometime in March of 2014. I don't remember the exact date. As I was taking off there was a loud bang/pop noise and the car didn't want to move. So I pulled over to the side of the road about 200 or so feet from the stop light, shut off the engine and lifted the hood to check and see what the problem was. By what I could see there was nothing wrong with the engine. So I started the engine and put the car in drive and the engine just revved as if it was in neutral. I put it in third and it did the same thing. So I figured it was a transmission problem. Then I put it in second and it took off just fine but only went 50 mph tops. I would have to shift it manually to go into third or drive. After that happened the transmission worked until May 18, 2014 when everything except the reverse gear stopped working. I researched this online and I'm not the only person this happened to and they were all at an average of 103,000 to 105,000 miles on the car.

2004 Pontiac Grand Prix transmission slipping/jerking motion going from dead start or uphill/downhill. Seems very very dangerous as trying to pull out into traffic is never consistent and the jerking motion forces people behind to slam on brakes. Happens up to 3 times in a row.
