- Blower Motor Problem - blower motor does not work; replacing resistor does not fix; replacing motor does not fix; replacing relays does not fix. REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH!! This takes about 20 minutes- you will need a E5 socket (special socket) along with a few other common tools. A way to check if you are experiencing this problem- turn key to accessory, press rear defrost. Does light come on? If not, no voltage going to climate control module (illumination lights are different circuit). Blower will work every now and then, headlights may suddenly turn off and then come back on. Replace the ignition switch and all the problems go away.

I have a 2003 Pontiac GP GT with low, 35000 miles that is having electrical problems. I have had this happen over 35 times in the past 1-1/2 years. The outage occurs (IMO) when the humidity is higher and only after an initial morning start up. Affected items are: fan speed 1-4, rear window defroster, automatic headlights and the heated seat. After re-start the items take from 30 seconds to 12 min to finally turn on. Dealer couldn't duplicate the problem but said it may be the BCM.
