2001 Pontiac Grand Prix right wheel separated around the rim, right front tire blew out causing vehicle to hit a guardrail. The consumer stated it was raining extremely hard and all of a sudden he felt the vehicle hydroplane.

Lawyer jeff meyerson on behalf of owner: The dealer or factory installed custom wheels manufactured by detata, which broke off of vehicle during normal driving conditions. The car struck a guard rail and flipped causing 2 fatalities and injuries to others.

Consumer's attorney statesdthat automobile was purchased at South point Pontiac, and it came with detata wheels. While driver was driving at highway speed wheel broke and became detached from automobile, which caused driver to lose control. Then, vehicle crashed into guardrail and flipped over, causing 2 fatalities and one severe injury.
