The contact owns a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. The contact stated that she had recurring failure with her anti-lock brakes. While braking, the ABS and traction service lights illuminated on the dashboard and a "grumbling" sound can be heard coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the hubs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired independently. The failure continued to occur. Rear brake lights not working, but third center brake light is working. Took to mechanic (pep boys) who changed the brake pads, rotors, brake fluid and replaced the bulbs and fuses, (as well as a motor w/reg for the driver's side rear window, serpentine belt, alternator drive belt, tie rod outer and oil change). When I got the car back, realized they never fixed the problem. Returned the car and told it was the multifunction switch at a price of $450. This is great considering my bill for everything was $1,500, and the problem I brought it in for (brake lights) was never fixed. I am hoping that at some point the issue will be addressed to save other unsuspecting poor souls that bought a Pontiac (Grand Prix GT).

2001 Grand Prix dual air, heat, radio and cruise control does not work. ABS light remains on at all times. ***** the vehicle was leaking coolant. The brake switch had to be re-adjusted. The evaporator core was replaced.

Consumer states of having problems with the ABS system.dealer was contacted, it was found that the wheel speed sensor on the right front was damaged by a foreign object or debris from the road which may have caused damage to the sensor wiring, the consumer believes that this component should be protected by a small shield to prevent this from occurring.
