Grand Prix 4 Door 3100

  • Automatic transmission
  • 160,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

It starts with a miss, then the tach acts up sometimes stops working and traction off light comes on and sets engine codes. The engine codes vary from crank sensor, cam sensor, mis fire on 3 and 5. I found a bad plug wire so I replaced it with a used one and all problems went away for almost a year. A few days ago it all started over so I replaced the plug wires with a new set and did not help. I have replaced crank sensor, plugs and wire set, coil pack with electronic engine module and problem still exist, I may try replacing computer next. Any ideas

Grand Prix GTP 3800

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

Driving along the road then all of a sudden the RPM falls out and the TRAC light comes on. The engine sputters and then kicks back in after doing this for about 2 weeks the SES light finally comes on telling me there is a problem with the Crank Shaft Position Sensor...bought a new one for $30.00 and having a local Mec. put it in today hopefully it works.
