Lifter chatter began at 75,000mi have done everything to protect motor (great oil/filter combo) preventative maintenance out the wazoo.. head started to leak at 87 k replaced gasket at shop, ($700) no problems were caused to motor due to my diligence. Lifter chatter steadily increasing. Now at 125k it needs an oil pump plus the whole top end replaced. Reason it is doing this, ALL THIS, is due to the oil pump not getting oil to the lifters like it should. Bottom end has oil circulation, oil pressure is good, weak pump.. this is a huge expensive problem!!!

I am very upset because I have had my car for 8 years and take good care of it and it only has 65k miles on it. It needs a new engine because the coolant is leaking and destroying the head gasket and god knows what else in my car. I had no idea anything was even wrong and it broke down on me and had to be towed to the mechanic shop. I had to pay 200 just for towing and diagnostics then to remedy the problem was told I needed a new head put in which is about 2k. I had 2 of the 4 rocker bolts come off, 1 break and one was on so tight it couldnt even be touched. I am now being put into a spot that I am unhappy, the car is paid off and unreliable.
