Well, as an previous owner of a Grand Am GT (1995) I bought another 2004 GT and today am heading to pick up the car (swearing at myself) after having the SAME ISSUE as my previous Pontiac-----BLOWN HEAD GASKET !!! I am more convinced than ever that this is was a definite issue that should have been recalled by Pontiac on MOST if not ALL Grand Ams. Right now I have no idea of the total bill but it is well over $2,000 to fix it and I am so disappointed cause I really do love my car. As the last Pontiac was fixed (2X) and then sold, this one is now in question cause I know it will be a problem again. Pontiac really should have looked into this issue cause I am sure I am not the only owner who has/had this issue with this model...................so pissed off right now !!!!
Update from Aug 12, 2015: Had complained to Pontiac (no wonder why they went under) and they had a dealer call me---FOR WHAT????? So they can overcharge me or try to sell me a new car.........Politely told them---forget it. Car manufacturers only care about getting them on the lots and overcharging customers--when issues arise-they do not want to be bothered or told of any constant issues with their product.
Update from Aug 19, 2015: Well, fixed the car cause couldn't get rid of it or trade it in that condition.Gonna now sell, rest of car is in very good condition,no wear inside, few minor scratches............Loved the car but time to UNLOAD !!!!!
