My wife informed me that her heat would go out. Pretty convenient in February. I contacted a buddy of mine who said to check the Anti-Freeze. It was low but could not see where it was leaking. About 1 week later same problem. I was worried it was a head gasket. I parked it in fresh snow and let it run for an hour. When I moved it I found a puddle of Anti-Freeze, which was a good sign. Took it to the garage and found the water pump was totally gone. Worst he had seen. Had that replace and the entire engine checked over. Appears to be fine. 55,000 miles and this crap is happening. This will be our last GM vehicle. As soon as it is paid down it will be gone before the head gasket happens again.
