Grand Am ES V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I was driving down the road one day and I had to change lanes so I turned on my blinker made the lane change and turned off my blinker (or so I thought). I didn't realize at that moment that I would never be able to turn off my blinker again. The clicking sound started with a high pitched squeal and then it clicked like the blinker was still on for a few seconds. It was mildly annoying at first but now it has become unbearable. It races a mile a minute sometimes and then it slows down and clicks every like 5 seconds or so but it is usually always there now, especially when I use my blinker. I try to drowned it out with the radio but I don't think there is a radio around that can hide that annoying clicking sound. I can't afford to fix this problem since I've heard it's about $200 or $300 to fix and it just goes out again. It almost seems like a new car might be a better option. I don't think I would buy another Pontiac, I don't care how good of a deal it seems!

Grand Am 3.2L V6

The car keeps clicking in the dash. Hot weather seems to make it worse. It was only clicking when the turn signal was used, but is now clicking randomly all the time. It seems to be a problem with quite a few grand ams.

i try to drown out the noise by turning the base on the radio up. this sound is so annoying. a mechanic told me it would cost about 300 to fix. i don't want to pay that to fix it.this sounds like a recall issue to me with so many other people having the same problem.

The relay switch constantly clicking is driving me nuts. Mechinic says it is expensive to fix. To expensive for me. Not fair, as i have been told several times this is very common in these cars. My daughters car did the same thing. Same make, model and year. Amazing!

The signal indicator switch keeps clicking even after you have finished your turn and it starts clicking just when ever it feels like, sometimes it will click on and off for an hour but then you won't hear it click for weeks, then it will click every day for a week.

Grand Am SE V6

This is the second Grand AM I have purchased and it now has the clicking noise. It is not always constant yet but is very annoying. Radio turned up loud helps drown it out but can't always have radio up loud. I really think this is a manufacturing defect the GM should take care of. I friend of mine just told me also that he has a gold 2004 Grand AM and they have the same thing but are just dealing with the clicking noise. It sounds like it is coming from the center of the console but not sure. This is a very annoying noise when your driving long distance and have to listen to it.

Grand Am SE 4 Cycl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

I purchased a 2004 Grand AM for my oldest daughter 2008 and it was nice. A year later we were in St. Louis, MO and started hearing a clicking noise which would not stop. It sounded like my hazard lights might be blinking so I pulled off road to check them and they were off. The clicking noise continued for a long time. I had a friend check it out for me and he replaced a relay ( I think) and it finally quit. This seems to be a manufacturing defect because I just recently purchased another Grand AM silver V6 SE and it is doing the same thing.

I have had this problem for a year now and I have replaced the hazard button already and that didnt work. Someone at the dealership said it was some fuze somewhere in the car that was out, convenient! My solution to this instead of drowning it out with loud music or ignoring it was to put 2 pennies where the hazard button press' in and cut off the power circulation, kind of ghetto but it works! You have to take out and put them in every time you want to use your blinker but it helps with the annoying clicks, mine NEVER stop!

Grand Am SE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 103,000 miles

One day, while switching lanes, the clicking began and didn't stop for three days. It was constant, clicking at 100 miles, and annoying me to the point that I just wanted to run the damn car into a wall. Fortunately the clicking just stopped one day... and I regained my sanity... until it began again. Ever since it's been an on and off occurrence that seems to be less often as time goes by. Usually it can be stopped by turning the blinker on in the opposite direction than what made it click, but when unstoppable I just turn up the radio to drown it out. I guess I've learned to live with it.

Grand Am 2.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

I have a 2.2L 2004 grand am, and when i bought it, it ran fine. Then this annoying clicking came on, it sounded like the blinker always blinking. It did this all the time. It ended up being the hazard switch or they call it the blinker relay. I had to replace this thing 5 times before it was finally fixed. This is a annoying problem, and if you buy it from an auto parts store make sure u get the warranty, because it will fail again and again.

Grand Am SE V6

For the last several months there is a relay switch under the dash, behind the stereo that clicks constantly.. It sounds like the blinker is still flashing or the flashers are on all the time.. It starts out slow, randomly will shut off, or click 100mph to the point I just turn the stereo up to drown out the sound of it... its getting worse by day, and I have read up on others having the same problem, with the same car.. I need to find where someone wrote the part #, or # that I'm suppose to give to the dealer to have them fix. I will keep everyone posted as to what happens because I cant stand it any longer & I will get it fixed this week.
