Had the Grand Am with less than 8000kms on it and applying the brakes produced extreme shudder. Went to Pontiac dealer and they turned the rotors (under warranty) and replaced the brake pads (not under warranty) When i complained I believed that the warped rotors contributed to the premature wear of the pads and they should be replaced under warranty I was told by the service manager...and I quote "sucks to be you"
Less than 5000kms later the rotors were warped again. This time they replaced the rotors (as a favor to me) and tried to charge me for new pads again. I threatened to escalate this problem to the Owner and they replied that they would supply the pads but I had to pay labour. I declined that option and said I would be back after contacting the District Service Manager. They complied and did the repairs under warranty but not without giving me attitude in that they were bending over backwards to help me. To which I replied that if you fixed this correctly the first time as I requested we wouldn't be in this situation.
No more dealer service and I've had to do pads, rotors and calipers on almost a yearly basis
