This issue is just a pain in the ass. I replaced the wheel assembly hub in July 2013 and these damn lights are still always on. My dash looks like it's covered in christmas tree lights, there are so many on.

Grand Am LX 3.4L V6

  • Automatic transmission

THIS CAR WAS MY DAD'S CAR BUT HE IS TOO OLD NOW TO DRIVE AND I GOT IT TO CHECK AND SELL IT, HOWEVER BECAUSE HE ALMOST DID NOT DRIVE IT TOO OFTEN THE MILEAGE IS LOW AND I CONSIDERED KEEPING IT AS AN EMERGENCY CAR.

EVER SINCE WE BOUGHT IS WITH 23000 MILES BACK IN 2004, THIS CAR HAD THE ABS, SERVICE ENGINE AND TRAC OFF LIGHT COME ON AFTER SOME NOISES THAT CAME FROM THE ENGINE BAY. CODES INDICATED A SENSOR IN THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL (ABS SENSOR) WAS BAD AND MY DAD HAD IT REPLACED TWICE AT HIS OWN COST BUT IT ALWAYS CAME BACK. WHEN I GOT THE CAR HE HAD ALREADY GIVEN UP ON THE THING, BUT I LIKE WORKING ON CARS AND DECIDED I WOULD TRACE IT TO HELL AND BACK ,SO I DID,

I FOUND THE CABLES THAT RUN FROM THE CAR HARNESS BELOW THE ENGINE BROKEN IN TWO DIFFERENT SIDES CLOSE TO WHERE THE SENSOR IS MOUNTED. IS LIKE THE CABLES WERE BROKEN DUE TO METAL FATIGUE BECAUSE ALL THE TURNING TO THE SIDES, THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN BUT OBVIOUSLY THE DESIGN OR THE MATERIALS USED IN THE HARNESS-TO SENSOR ASSEMBLY WERE NOT VERY WELL PUT TOGETHER. I DON'T KNOW, BUT I SOLDERED NEW CABLE IN PLACE AND THE CAR IS RUNNING FINE. NOW I WANT TO SHARE THE SOLUTION IF SOMEONE NEEDS TO KNOW

About every other time I turn on my car, these warning lights come on with that heart wrenching DING! DING! DING! So I usually freak out for a few seconds, then turn my car off at the next convenient place, turn it back on, and they don't come on again. This is annoying, but not detrimental to driving. However, when should I believe these lights if they keep playing wolf on me??

My beef is with my POS Grand am! What a lemon! Ive had nothing but problems with this thing, Im not alone either, theres 2 more poeple with the same car at my work who have the SAME issues! While driving home awhile ago, my ABS, TRACK OFF and SERVICE VEHICLE SOON lights all popped on, that was a little scary! I had it hooked up to the machine at the garage, and it came back as an issue with my computer, oh hell NO I will NOT be replacing that! Im not paying out that kind of money for that thing. So now I have no idea when something is actually wrong! Ive had so many issues with this thing as soon as its paid for its GONE I dont care if its only the scrappers that will take it. Ill ride my horse to work for gods sake. Way to make a car pontiac... bravo.....

Grand Am GT1 3.4L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 145,000 miles

Still don't know what the problem is. I can drive this car 36 miles one way to work and then back another 36 miles over potholes and nothing. As soon as I go onto any other road with a significant pothole, the lights pop on. I have to shut the car off, pump the breaks a couple of times and the lights go out. When all 3 lights are on it seems to make the steering squirrly. Sometimes I can get the other 2 lights out but the trac one stays on till next time I pump the brakes and restart.

There is three lights that just seem to come on, in my car most of the time when I turn the engine on. Trac light the ABS light and one more light but can't think of that one at the moment. They come on and once I turn the car off and restart it they may or may not come back on I don't understand the problem. or why this is happening!!

Grand Am SE 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 38,525 miles

My engine warning lights abs, trak on, service engine soon lights keep coming on. I have had it repaired twice, and each fix by a GM dealership lasted only about two months each. They covered some of the repairs under their so called goodwill clause, but it still cost me over $1000.00 and the lights are still ON!!

I won't even go on about the engine coolant problem, there just isn't enough computer memory available yet.
