I purchased the vehicle used, from a dealer in North little rock ark, we noticed the recall, dealer said just call Pontiac they should honor it. The recall is on blinker -flasher control box which causes blinkers to fail or be intermittent. (nhsta campaign number 03V327000). This is happening to the car just after I purchased from dealer. I called Pontiac they said my VIN number is not on the list VIN#[xxx]. yet the problem is the same I would like to get this resolved it is my daughters car and is a great safety issue. Please let me know my options and what I can do to get this resolved as quickly as possible thank you. I do not know how long this problem existed with the original owner or if they received a letter. Complaint received via E-mail. Hazard light switch is making very loud clicking noises. Sometimes the hazard switch fails to function, which is worse in cold temperature. This could result in a rear end collision. The hazard switch can only be bought at a GMC dealership which is priced between $42:00-$300:00. I have noticed a lot of complaints on this issue, and think Pontiac should have a recall on the hazard switch.

Hello, my name is [xxx] I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT. VIN. [xxx]. I have a complaint about my hazard switch it is making clicking noises very loud then sometimes my signal switch does it work. Sense its got cold it is real bad. Which it can cause someone to hit me (very scared). I bought my car last year, June 2003 used. I been asking all over town about hazard switch I ask autozone, oreaily, and salvage places which they said they do not sell them you (I) would have to go to GMC dealership. I call them up and the tell me all kinds of different prices ($42-300.00) for a part. So I am really tired of calling different places one day I decided to look up the hazard switch on yahoo which I came to www.xtremega.com that people have been complaining about their turn signal have been sticking on Pontiac Grand Am which there should be a recall on because of many people complaining and some people can not even voice there opinion (hazard switch is making clicking noises) on internet or they even don't know what number to call. This is a major problem for Pontiac Grand Am owners and I think there need to be something done about it. Turn signals work intermittently. This started about a year ago and now the hazard signal does it also. It seems to happen after I have driven several miles. I drive 55 miles one way to work and by the time I get close to my job they have stopped working. Also, I have never received any kind of notification on any recalls for this vehicle and I have read that there have been four total.

Consumer' S vehicle had the same problem as mentioned in NHTSA recall 03V32700. The hazard warning switches may experience solder joint cracking caused by rapid temperature transitions and the soldering process. If solder joint cracking occurs and results in an open circuit, the turn signals/hazard lamps become intermittent or inoperative. Dealership indicated to the consumer this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN. The HVAC blower was inoperative.

Starting last summer, I noticed a clicking noise coming from the stereo area of my vehicle. The noise seems to come from the hazard warning lights switch located just above my radio. Since the switch still worked, I figured it was something physical that was loose behind the molding. This summer, when the temperature got extreme hot in the months of June and July, the clicking started again. I then noticed another problem. Sometimes my turn signal lights do not work. I will have to hit the hazard warning lights button a few times to get my turn signals to work. I was going to have an estimate for the cost of replacement, but found out that there was a recall on these incidents. The NHTSA campaign id is 03V327000. Reading the recall notice shows that my car is showing the same problems. The problems with the turn signal did not start until the hot summer months of June and July (they continue every so often as of this complaint). I called the GM customer assistance number and gave them my VIN. Toynicia jackson answered and said I should reference case 1-238622769. She was very helpful but said the reason I did not get a recall notice was because my vehicle was not covered. Even though it is a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, she said that it could have had different parts used. I plan on sending information to GM/Pontiac as well about this issue. Since I am having the same problems as described in the NHTSA recall notice I believe my vehicle should be covered under the recall. Please look into this matter. My VIN is [xxx]. the vehicle is a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am which I purchased new in Feb. Of 2000.
